Located near the southernmost part of Chief’s Island, Moremi Crossing is on a small palm-fringed island called Ntswi. Ntswi is surrounded by the Moremi’s game-rich seasonal floodplains. In contrast to the northern Okavango Delta where the waters are fast-flowing and the channels and view are enclosed by high reeds and papyrus; the channels around Moremi Crossing and its sister camp Gunn’s Camp offer far-reaching vistas of the Moremi’s floodplain, grasslands, and marginal woodlands interspersed with Mokolwane palm islands.

Accommodation At Moremi Crossing Camp
Luxury accommodation in 16 vintage style safari tents, each with its own private wooden deck and magical views over the Boro River onto Chief’s Island. All Meru tents are large and airy with en suite bathrooms consisting of a shower and toilet.
The main building houses a large open plan deck that has spectacular far-reaching views over the Boro River onto Chiefs Island. There are various small private lounge areas for comfort, privacy, and spaciousness. Within the tree line, you will find a nice shaded decked area that leads to the pool. The whole camp is shaded by magnificent Palms, Giant Ebony, Mangosteen, Sausage, and Giant Fig trees.
Moremi Crossing is a short scenic 20-minute flight from Maun. As you fly over the Delta you can see the intricate twists and turns of the waterways and the ever-changing colors where dry land meets Delta.

Activities & Wildlife
At Moremi Crossing Camp guests have the chance to experience the Okavango Delta and its game from a very different slower and closer perspective. Either on foot, or silently being poled by mokoro through the Okavango Delta’s waterways while in search of game. Through the provision of high-quality guiding services and new custom-made boats, Moremi Crossing offers a more personalized wildlife experience. Activities on offer are half or full-day mokoro trips with game walks, bush walks with picnic lunch, wilderness camping, and sunset motorboat cruises.
Mokoro safari
Moremi Crossing being a water-based camp offers a wide variety of animal and bird species. On the mokoro, you get to see the water birds like African Jacana’s, African Fish eagles and if you look carefully you will see the Malakite Kingfishers darting between the reeds, there is also a chance that your guide will find the rare Pel Fishing owl.
Game walks on Chiefs Island give you the opportunity to get a better view of not just the big animals but the smaller insects and birds that contribute to the Okavango Delta’s vast ecosystem. What has been spotted on walks in the past are Lion, Leopard, Wild dogs, Elephant, Giraffe, Zebra, Buffalo, Red Lechwe, and many more.
Walking safari
For the more adventurous; try a bit of wilderness camping. This involves packing up a mokoro with camping equipment and going with a professional guide out into the Delta for a night or two. It’s a magical experience and a good way to get close to the birds and animals that the Delta has to offer. For the less energetic there are boat cruises up and down the Boro River or you can take advantage of the relaxed atmosphere of the camp and its facilities.

Botswana Family Safaris
Moremi Crossing Child policy:
Minimum age 6 years. Or book exclusive-use for kids of any age. When the child reaches 16 years, the full adult rates apply. Families with children under 12 need to book a private vehicle. Children have to be at least 12 years of age to take part in walking safaris Children’s Rates are only applicable when a Family Room* is booked. A maximum of 2 children can be accommodated on the reduced rate per night Kids under the age of 18 years must share a room with an adult.
Moremi Crossing Child Rates
*There is 1 x family room. The layout of these family rooms comprises 2 x sleeping rooms and 2 x bathrooms, the second of which is smaller. These are booked on a first come first serve basis and are prioritized for families with children under the age of 18. These are not for triple/quad-sharing for adults.
There is one “floating” extra bed in the camp. However, due to the size of the standard tents including a third bed is a huge space constraint. This is due to there being no living area in the tents. For the comfort of guests, we would discourage this setup. But we can accommodate a triple if required. This can be used in the family room for 2 x adults and 3 x children. There is a maximum of one triple room in camp (2 x adults and 1 x child) on any given night (in addition to the family room). Please check if it is available. Otherwise, the permitted limit of the concession will be exceeded.

The 5 Rivers Safari runs from 15th November to 31st of March every year. This is a very special time to visit Botswana as it is a time of plenty. Mammals are healthy, and many species bring their young into the world. The bush is emerald green in color with an abundance of flora and large flocks of migrant bird species. This makes it especially good for photographers.
A minimum of 3 nights at one camp or 4 nights at any 2 camps/lodges All flying into and out of camps/lodges MUST be with Moremi Air.
