The 9 day Two Rivers Safari Package is an exploration of the Zambezi and Luangwa Rivers in Zambia. The mighty Zambezi and the dramatic Luangwa Rivers flow through and along Zambia’s two prime destinations. The South Luangwa National Park and the Lower Zambezi National Park.
The Two Rivers Safari Package operates from April – November every year. Out of this time, we can use a lodge in the Lower Zambezi that stays open all year. It includes 2 x free nights! 4 nights at Anabezi Camp in the Lower Zambezi National Park. And 4 nights at Nkwali Camp in the South Luangwa National Park.
We also have the option to swap Nkwali for Tena Tena (from 22nd May – 31st October), or Nsefu (open from 1st February – 31st March and 22nd May – 20th November). Or Anabezi for Amanzi. The package with Amanzi is called Raw Zambia. The itinerary is exactly the same, only the camps differ.

Two Rivers Safari Package Daily Itinerary with Anabezi and Nkwali
Day 1 – 4: Anabezi Camp
On arrival at Lusaka International Airport, a representative will meet you and assist you with your flight to Jeki Airstrip.
You have three full days to enjoy the mighty Zambezi River experience. Lower Zambezi is great for water based activities. These include canoeing, boating, and fishing. With game drives and walking as a bonus, for you to choose from. You therefore have a full range of activities on offer for these three days. The choice is all yours.
The Lower Zambezi lies between the rugged and dramatic Zambezi escarpment and the wide and spectacular Zambezi River. The Zambezi River runs for 120 km through the park. With the protection of the Mana Pools National Park in Zimbabwe on the opposite side, it is a haven for wildlife. There are many channels, lagoons, sandbanks, and islands along the river. And then open plains, woodland, and bush areas behind the riverine strip. The river is a massive attraction. It offers boating, drifting, canoeing, and fishing. All with breathtaking views. For the avid fisherman, the tiger fishing (on a catch and release basis) is worth a week out here.
Dulini Anabezi Camp
Dulini Anabezi is at the lower end of the Lower Zambezi National Park. Exclusively located offering relaxing and serene isolation. With its unique location, Anabezi offers diverse wildlife sightings. Many yellow corn pods drop from the surrounding Ana Trees attracting a diversity of animals from the higher land to feed during the dry months.
Day 5 – 8: Nkwali Camp
Today you will head off to Zambia’s premier safari destination, the renowned South Luangwa National Park. The transfer will be a flight via Lusaka and onto Mfuwe Airport. At Mfuwe International Airport a guide from Robin Pope Safaris will meet you. The drive to Nkwali Camp is 1 hour. Through colorful local scenes of villages, agriculture as well as bush.
The unspoiled South Luangwa National Park is one of the natural jewels in Zambia’s crown. And home to one of the most varied collections of wildlife on the planet. The park is centered around the Luangwa River which is renowned for its pristine beauty and wildlife. Untapped by man, its natural ebb and flow of flooding makes much of the park inaccessible by road. Which keeps it a sanctuary for the large concentration of game that live there. A paradise for birders, over 450 species are to be found in the park, and the wildlife includes elephants, buffalo, hippos, giraffes, leopards, and lions.
Nkwali Camp
Nkwali Camp has a wide view of the Luangwa River. On private land, and overlooking the Park, Nkwali is ideally situated for the start of your safari. The six rooms all look out over the river and have open air bathrooms. The game in the area is excellent. It includes many family herds of elephants and the endemic species of giraffe, the Thornicroft Giraffe. The Luangwa Valley is known as the Valley of Leopards and is renowned for its walking safaris. You will be able to explore this fully over your time here. The park has over 450 bird species, so also a birders paradise. Activities are not set in stone, so tailored to suit your interests.
Day 9
After an early breakfast, transfer to Mfuwe Airport for your flight to Lusaka and onward connections.
