Tour to Hermanus to see the whales in season (June – November) and go shark cage diving. This pretty seaside town is nestled between the mountains and sea so well worth a visit even out of whale season. You can also visit the African Penguin and Seabird Sanctuary, a marine bird rehabilitation center. Special focus is given to the endangered African Penguin.
There are two ways to get to Hermanus, and both offer incredible views. One is via the Long Tom Pass and the other along the coastal road (R44) via Betty’s Bay.
