Types of accommodation available in Botswana are mainly tented camps. As this reduces the carbon footprint. It must be remembered that these are usually small camps. Consequently; availability is often an issue in the high seasons (from July to October). And it is important to book early to avoid disappointment. However; in towns like Kasane (the gateway to the Chobe National Park) and Maun (the gateway to the Okavango Delta); there are some larger lodges. But they too get busy in peak seasons.
Botswana accommodation is usually in the game reserves or; on the outskirts of them. There are many options available to suit all budgets. Visit Chobe National Park to see all the elephants and wildlife. Okavango Delta which is a labyrinth of waterways where you can mokoro (a dug-out canoe). One of the many other parks / attractions in Botswana. Or visit the Makgdikgadi Pans on a quad bike and sleep under the stars on the salt pans!
