There is an airport on Zanzibar Island (Kisauni Airport) with direct flights from South Africa, Kenya and other parts of Tanzania. Or else you can fly to Dar es Salaam and connect to Zanzibar with another flight (or ferry).

The best time to visit Zanzibar for your honeymoon is in the dry season which is between June and October. This is ideal if you want to combine it with a Tanzania safari honeymoon too. December until February is also a great time for your honeymoon when it is warm and dry.
