Mozambique is a long and large country. We recommend flying to your destination especially to Vilanculos and the Bazaruto and Quirimbas Archipelagos. Most of our holiday packages are for the beach resorts which are magnificent. Mozambique is the ideal add-on to your safari in South Africa, Botswana, Vic Falls, or Namibia.

When to tour Mozambique

The climate is similar to South Africa with rainfall mainly between December and March. February sometimes experiences cyclones especially further north. By April/May, the rains subside and the humidity drops.

Mozambique can be added onto most of our tours from Southern Africa so there are not many tours listed. Therefore, just let us know which accommodation you would like, and we can add it on. However, if you want to experience more, please do let us know. Self-drive tours have increased in popularity due to the improvement in the roads. However, bear in mind, distances are still vast and stopover accommodation may not be of the standard you would normally use. For this reason, we recommend self-drive (with your rental vehicle) really only for the southern part of Mozambique.  And to rather fly into the more northern parts of Mozambique.
