The exclusive Lion Sands Private Game Reserve (Sabi Sands Game Reserve) and sister lodges Tinga & Narina (in the Kruger National Park) are such romantic safari wedding destinations that most only dream of! We can tailor make a wedding celebration that is completely unique and in true African custom.

There is arguably no better place to celebrate the start of a very special union than in the African bush. Whether small and intimate (just the two of you), or more extravagant, Lion Sands is highly flexible and can accommodate groups of up to 100 guests across 4 lodges.

River Lodge: 18 suites for 38 guests
Narina Lodge: 9 suites for 18 guests
Ivory Lodge: 8 Villas and 1 Two Bedroom Villa for 20 guests
Tinga Lodge: 9 suites and 1 Two Bedroom for 24 guests

Wedding guests must stay at one of Lion Sands lodges. Should there not be enough capacity for the full entourage, additional guests may be accommodated at adjacent lodges. We will gladly take care of these arrangements for you.

Basic Wedding Package (Be Mine)

Includes:
A private wedding venue for your exclusive use.
Legal fees, which include costs for your abridged marriage certificate. Following this, a full marriage certificate must be applied for. This can take up to 2 months to process in South Africa. This will be mailed to your address.
A Christian minister to officiate the ceremony. If you require another religious ceremony, this will be contracted out (for your own account).
A dedicated on-site coordinator to ensure the experience runs smoothly.
Elegant wedding venue setup, inclusive of white & cream tablecloths and overlays.
A specially created wedding menu (exclusive of drinks). The menu can be discussed with the chef.
A handcrafted single tiered wedding cake.
Champagne for the bridal couple.
Romantic in-room breakfast the morning after the wedding.

General Wedding Package (Be Magical)

Includes:
All the above Be Mine Wedding Package inclusions plus:
Special Gift for the Bride & Groom.
Bridal Bouquet.
Romantic Turndown.
Groom’s Buttonhole flower.
Couples Spa Treatment.
Champagne for guests to toast the bridal couple (1 glass per guest).

Full Wedding Package (Be More)

Includes:
All the above Be Mine & Be Magical Wedding Package inclusions plus:
A selection of canapes for the guests to enjoy while waiting for the bridal couple.
A photographer to capture special moments during the day (excluding accommodation & transport costs).
Hairdresser & make-up artist for the exclusive use of the bride.
Flowers – x2 bouquets at the ceremony.
Complimentary overnight stay for the bridal couple (1 night only).

The retail boutiques at Lion Sands Game Reserve offer a range of unique high end wedding gifts for guests to select from. With your wedding register that you can personally select. This one stop bridal experience ensures that guests can easily select unique gifts that will forever resemble the bridal couple’s wedding destination. The boutiques will prepare the packing and wrapping of the gifts.

Treehouses at Lion Sands

While at Lion Sands, why not treat yourself to a night under the stars? The 3 x Lion Sands Treehouses have been described as ‘The Ultimate Bush Bedrooms’. Where you get to truly experience nocturnal Africa in its rawest form. Sleep directly beneath the Milky Way where you may well lose count of the shooting stars. They are Chalkley’s Treehouse, Kingston Treehouse in the Sabi Sand, and Tinyeleti Treehouse in the Kruger National Park.

The Treehouses at Lion Sands are for the hopeless romantic (ideal as a wedding treat). , the adventurer, the person who needs a complete disconnect and digital detox, or the wildlife enthusiast who prefers the bush au-natural.

The Treehouses are booked in conjunction with your accommodation. Pack an overnight bag with your essentials while leaving your other belongings in your room at camp.

Arrive at sunset to a scrumptious picnic dinner, and spend the hours of dusk fully appreciating the vastness of the bushveld as it transforms from day to night.

All of the Treehouses are securely constructed above the ground. Therefore, animals will remain at a safe and comfortable distance. The Field Guide will provide a full orientation when he drops guests off before sunset. And will remain on call via the radio left behind until it is time to leave the following morning after sunrise and a good cup of coffee!
