Mahali Mzuri is a dream destination wedding venue in the Masai Mara, Kenya. Whether you’re planning your wedding or a blessing, renewing your vows, or celebrating an anniversary, we can help organize your special occasion at Mahali Mzuri. We arrange everything from intimate ceremonies just for the two of you or larger celebrations for your nearest and dearest. Tell us what you’re dreaming of and we’ll tailor your special day.
Besides civil ceremonies, we can also offer wedding blessings too. You can incorporate unique Maasai traditions into your day. It’s up to you how authentic you would like to be! From dancers to dinners here are just a few ideas of how you can get the party started!
For a traditional celebration, the Maasai dancers perform their traditional song and dance, which involves the men jumping in the center of a circle formed by other Maasai warriors. This is traditionally performed to try and impress young women with their athleticism!
A bush dinner is the perfect setting for couples looking for an intimate and romantic wedding and is an ideal setting for smaller groups.
Spend your first moments as a married couple amongst the wild animals roaming the Kenyan plains. You’ll get to experience it all at Sir Richard Branson‘s luxury tented safari camp in Kenya, that is for sure.

Traditional Maasai Blessing Rituals
Whether you are renewing your vows or celebrating an anniversary we would be delighted to organize a special ceremony for you and your partner. For those looking for the traditional Maasai blessing this is the perfect option for you, but be warned – some traditions are not for the faint-hearted! The beauty is you can choose what you would like to incorporate into your special day. For example, in the more ‘conservative’ option, the bride can dress in Maasai beaded necklaces, a headdress, and drape Maasai wraps around her wedding clothes. You can then be met by a group of dancing warriors and ladies and led to the Maasai Elder. The blessing is open air, colorful and joyful.
A Maasai bride traditionally wears a cowhide dress over her wedding gown. A group of Maasai Elders prepares the ground by spilling milk for the bride to walk over, and then they spit wine, milk, or cow’s blood at the bride’s feet as a sign of good luck. The Elders, and possibly the groom, will then drink the cow’s blood or goat’s milk from a handmade gourd to celebrate!
Civil Ceremonies
It’s necessary to comply with the Kenyan Government’s requirements to hold a legal wedding in Kenya. We can assist you with all the legalities and coordinate a registrar for your big day! Please note there are additional costs for this so most couples chose to do the legalities in the home country.
Wedding Extras
Here are some extras to consider for your special day (for an additional charge)
Wedding Cake: If you would like a special custom-designed cake for your big day, we can order a tailor-made one from a talented pastry chef in Nairobi.
Photography: Don’t miss any of those special moments! Photographers are available in Nairobi but please ask us for costs associated with flying them to the ceremony and hosting them overnight.
Flowers: Additional flower arrangements for the bridesmaids and groomsmen.
Spa Treatments: Enjoy our special ‘Couples Experience’ or a relaxing massage in the Nasaro Spa with Africology products whilst taking in your stunning surroundings.
Travel Coordinator: Whether you’d like a small simple ceremony or a large multi-day event with friends and family, we would be delighted to organize a beautiful wedding for you and your guests. We can coordinate onward travel, your honeymoon, etc to make your big day seamless and just what you dreamt of.
Mahali Mzuri Wedding Venues
In the heart of the Kenyan Bush there are plenty of places to get married and toast the happy couple, but here are just some of the favorites:
Lone Tree Hill offers stunning savanna views. It’s a beautiful location to say ‘I do’ covered by large canopied trees.
Big Rock offers panoramic views of the conservancy and the most incredible sunsets. It’s a special spot for the ceremony, sun downers, or bush dinners.
The pool deck is perfect for smaller weddings, receptions, or private dinners. The infinity pool extends the view during the day and in the evening is lit up with candles and lamps creating a romantic atmosphere.
The fire pit deck is a spectacular elevated space with views out into the gorge. Watch the sunset while the fire pit provides the perfect romantic atmosphere.
Shepherd’s Nook offers privacy and is a small but beautiful area. It’s also the perfect spot to continue the celebrations with a reception or bush dinner.
