The River Club is a tranquil oasis on the Zambezi River and the perfect location for a small or large wedding. Located close to the renowned Victoria Falls, The River Club provides an exotic location for intimate affairs of up to 22 guests. Or larger celebrations of up to 100 guests with the balance staying close by.
A host of activities await young and old, either on the lodge’s property; as well as around the Victoria Falls. Its location away from the hubbub of noise around the Victoria Falls; especially from helicopters and micro-lights; ensures that as a wedding destination it provides complete tranquility; without interruption in Edwardian elegance in an African bush setting!
The River Club is an ideal destination for families with kids over 6 years old. The lodge is set on a 50-acre secure property with sprawling gardens. Therefore provides the perfect setting for young ones to run around in and explore.
When the River Club hosts a special event, the whole lodge has to be booked by the group for a minimum of three nights (one night before and one after the event date). If not, conflict is caused with other guests staying at the same time who also expect the same exclusive service.
River Club Wedding Information
Legal documentation required for marriage is approximately USD 1, 000. This includes official Registrar and Council arrangements.
A local event coordinator needs to be hired in order to organize and manage the event. We will provide contact details for a coordinator who regularly works with The River Club.
The coordinator will assist with:
A special cake.
Table decor & set-up to suit individual preferences. As choices in Livingstone are limited, you may want to bring decor from home.
Hairdresser – contact details will be provided by the coordinator.
Event main meal – for up to 100 guests.
Band or disco – until midnight at the latest.
Flowers – Please note that flowers are very seasonal and limited in variety.
Public address system, if required.
We only do weddings at Victoria Falls for international guests who are booking their whole travel package with us.
Wedding Venues at The River Club and Extras
Island Ceremony
The River Club has an island, in front of the lodge; that makes an exotic setting for wedding ceremonies. This is subject to water levels so normally not available during the months of March to May.
Rates For Private Island Usage:
Up to 30 guests: USD 1, 500
From 31 – 80 guests: USD 2, 000
81-100 guests: USD 2, 500
Includes transfers to and from the lodge by boat and light refreshments (fruit juice and water). Although children are welcome, note these rates and numbers of guests for island usage exclude children.
Lodge Ceremony and Reception
The lodge’s sprawling lawns and its magnificent vantage point over a sweeping bend on the river; provide a stunning setting for an open-air ceremony. The cost for use of the lodge grounds is USD 1,000. Wedding set up and marquee tents are at an additional cost.
Catering
The lodge is able to cater for indoor wedding receptions in the dining room for a maximum of 30 guests. Alternatively, we can arrange marquee tents for larger events; at an additional cost.
Don’t forget; kosher food is available at The River Club.
A 1929 Open Top Rolls Royce 20/25 HP Tourer is available for brides’ arrival at an additional cost. However, this is not suitable if it is raining.
Please Note
As The River Club is an Eco-friendly lodge, the bridal couple will need to use a biodegradable confetti.
The bride and groom will be responsible for any and all damages caused by their wedding guests.

The exclusive use rates not only give you the best value for money but privacy for you and your guests. You will have full use of all 10 x suites at The River Club sleeping up to 22 guests. Inquire for additional children’s beds.
