Cousine Island is approximately 6km off the west coast of Praslin. It offers an exclusive island experience with complete privacy found in very few other places on earth. The island is 25 hectares (62 acres) in size; approximately 1.4km in length, 800m in width. And is 100% dedicated to the preservation of the Seychelles environment.

Cousine Island is a private nature reserve. It is home to five of Seychelles’ endemic birds such as the Seychelles magpie robin and Seychelles brush warbler. As well as a variety of endemic fauna and spectacular marine life. It is one of the few pristine granitic islands in the world free from exploitation, mammalian predator species, and other foreign flora and fauna that once threatened her delicate ecosystem.

There are some large specimens of the giant land tortoise wandering the island. Hawksbill and Green turtles nest on Cousine’s shores. Nesting Hawksbill females occur from September to February and hatchlings from December to April. Connect to nature in a way you could never imagine. Diving along coral reefs. Cousine Island’s beach stretches from the most northern point of the island to the southern tip of the island. Another beach forms during the northwest Monsoon winds; which due to its seclusion; is referred to as ‘Honeymoon Beach’.

How to get to Cousine Island

Catamaran transfers are approximately 20-25 minutes from Praslin Island. Or 1.5 hrs from Mahe Island to Cousine Island with a selection of beautiful catamarans and yachts.

Helicopter transfers take 17 minutes from Mahe and 5 minutes from Praslin Island. This makes it one of the most direct ways to get to your private island retreat of Cousine.
