Ngorongoro Honeymoon

Visit the Ngorongoro Crater on your Tanzania honeymoon. Picture lying in your bath filled with rose petals, sipping on sparkling wine, and looking down over the crater. What a decadent experience. The Ngorongoro Crater is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a must visit place in Tanzania. It is easily combined with the Serengeti National Park and other northern circuit attractions. Making the ultimate safari honeymoon. Or a combo bush and beach package by including Zanzibar, Seychelles, Mauritius or the Kenyan coast.

Often referred to as Africa’s “Garden of Eden”, Ngorongoro offers a dramatic backdrop of mist shrouded volcanic walls, golden grasslands, and a permanent population of over 30,000 animals. Providing an intimate, high end wildlife experience.

Standing on the edge of the 600 meter deep caldera with a glass of champagne as the sun sets over the ancient landscape is a quintessential honeymoon moment.

The nearest airport is Arusha, a 2 ½ hour drive away.

The best time to visit

The Ngorongoro Crater offers exceptional game viewing year round due to its permanent water supply. However, June to October (the dry season) offers cooler highland temperatures and easier wildlife spotting as animals gather around the central lakes. December to March is also beautiful, offering lush, green landscapes and vibrant birdlife.

Ngorongoro Crater Honeymoon Accommodation

The choice of accommodation sets the tone for your honeymoon. Stay on the Crater Rim for dramatic views & exclusivity. Or the lush, fertile hills of Karatu just outside the conservation area gate (30–45 minutes away). There are many lodges in Karatu offering more affordable honeymoon accommodation in the Tanzanian countryside. Surrounded by the Ngorongoro Forests, coffee plantations, hidden caves and cascading waterfalls. Hiking is a big attraction here.

These are our Ngorongoro Crater lodges that have honeymoon offers. Also see our Tanzania honeymoon information. You can still enjoy your honeymoon at any of the Ngorongoro Crater lodges as they will always do something special for you.
