Zanzibar Island (Unguja) is 60 miles long and 20 miles wide, occupying a total area of approximately 650 square miles.
There is an airport on Zanzibar Island (Kisauni Airport) with direct flights from South Africa, Kenya, and other parts of Tanzania, and the world. Or else you can fly to Dar es Salaam and connect to Zanzibar with another flight (or ferry).
The best time for a Zanzibar Honeymoon
The best time to visit Zanzibar is in the dry season which is between June and October. This is ideal should you want to combine it with a Tanzania safari honeymoon too. December until February is also a great time for your honeymoon when it is warm and dry.
Between March and May, especially April, gets the most rainfall.
