Fancourt is only 7 km from George Airport. Driving from Cape Town is 4hr 45 minutes on the N2 or 5hr 48 minutes on Route 62. To drive from Port Elizabeth / Gqeberha is 3hr 46 minutes on the N2 or 4hr 12 minutes on Route 62.

Fancourt Golf Courses

There are four Gary Player designer courses, each with its own unique character and allure. The Links, measuring up to the highest international standards is Fancourt’s flagship course. The Montagu course is an experience not to be missed. With its rolling fairways and strategically placed bunkers, even the most experienced golfers will find themselves challenged. For those who prefer a parklands course, the Outeniqua course offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and forests that are sure to leave you astonished. Whether you’re a seasoned golf pro or a novice, Fancourt’s golf courses offer something for everyone.

Montagu Golf Course

Fancourt’s Montagu Golf Course, originally designed by Gary Player, has earned a world class reputation as one of the finest 18 hole parkland layouts. Golfers can expect a challenging, yet highly enjoyable golfing experience surrounded by the natural beauty of the Fancourt estate.

This tree lined course covers large tracts of varying terrain across an undulating indigenous landscape. A detailed stroke saver takes golfers through the course, providing distance measurements and images that assist players with navigating the course. A warm up area, featuring a full length range and a chipping and bunker practice area, is available to golfers before play. Golf carts are available for hire, weather permitting.

2026: 18th – 24th May 2026 & 24th August – 2nd September 2026.
2027: 17th – 23rd May 2027 & 22nd – 31st August 2027.

Outeniqua

Fancourt’s Outeniqua golf course offers a leisurely and entertaining golfing experience. It provides a more forgiving terrain than its counterpart, the Montagu, but offers its fair share of challenges to keep golfers interested.

Also designed by Gary Player and named after the Outeniqua Mountains, the course can comfortably accommodate a large field of golfers. A detailed stroke saver takes golfers through the course, providing distance measurements and images that assist players with navigating the course. Before play, a warm up area, featuring a full length range and a chipping and bunker practice area, is available to golfers. Golf carts are available for hire, weather permitting.

Tining Schedule:

2026: 25th – 31st May 2026 & 14th – 23rd September 2026.
2027: 24th – 30th May 2027 & 13th – 22nd September 2027.

The Links At Fancourt (A Privately Owned Club)

Sculpted into what Gary Player has described as his greatest feat as a course designer, The Links is the golfing hallmark of the Fancourt estate. Featuring an undulating, windswept terrain and dune style landscape, the course is the collaborative handiwork of golfing icon, Gary Player, course designer, Phil Jacobs, and Fancourt’s owner, Dr. Hasso Plattner. The Links is currently voted number one in the country by Golf Digest South Africa.

Tining Schedule:

2026: 13th – 19th April 2026 & 3rd – 13th September 2026.
2027: 10th – 16th May 2027 & 3rd – 12th September 2027.

The Links Experience

A 9 hole golf course designed by Gary Player. This short course offers a world class golfing experience tailored for players seeking a fast paced yet challenging round amidst the breathtaking landscapes of the Garden Route.

2027: 4th – 7th May 2027 & 24th – 30th September 2027.
