Fancourt Hotel Accommodation

The Manor House

The Manor House, Fancourt’s original homestead, is a national monument (circa 1859). Originally owned by Henry Fancourt White, the engineer who supervised the construction of the Montagu Pass. This incredible mountain pass goes from the city of George over the Outeniqua mountain range to the town of Oudtshoorn. The Manor House has been rejuvenated as a luxury hotel on the extensive Fancourt resort.

The Manor House offers a unique combination of classic opulence and the indulgent sophistication of a 21st century boutique hotel with 18 x extraordinary suites. Choose from adjacent rooms or spacious one and two bedroom suites. The entire Fancourt Estate is every kid’s and parent’s playground, offering ample space and natural surroundings to roam freely.

Get out and about as a family and explore all the activities and beaches nearby. The Fancourt Kidz Club at the Leisure Center offers fully supervised activities for children aged 3-10. Putting parents’ minds at ease, this facility is managed by a trained and experienced team. The trendy Teen Lounge provides teens with their fair share of age appropriate activities, gaming facilities, and entertainment. Fancourt has on-site CPR and First Aid trained babysitters who will provide dependable childcare to ensure a worry-free stay.

The following children’s rates and policy are applicable:
0 to 3 years of age: free of charge.
4 to 15 years: 50% of the per person sharing rate.
16+ years is an adult thus normal room rates will apply.
Two children sharing with 2 adults can only stay in a One or Two bedroom suite.
One child sharing with 2 adults can stay in a luxury, a One bedroom or a Two bedroom suite.
All children staying in their own room will pay full paying adult rates based on the room category.

For keen golfers, Fancourt needs no introduction. There are three Gary Player designed 18 hole golf courses. all ranked in the Top 20 in South Africa. As well as The Links Experience (9 hole) and a Golf Academy.

Montagu Golf Course

Fancourt’s Montagu Golf Course, originally designed by Gary Player, has earned a world class reputation as one of the finest 18 hole parkland layouts. Golfers can expect a challenging, yet highly enjoyable golfing experience surrounded by the natural beauty of the Fancourt estate.

This tree lined course covers large tracts of varying terrain across an undulating indigenous landscape. A detailed stroke saver takes golfers through the course, providing distance measurements and images that assist players with navigating the course. A warm up area, featuring a full length range and a chipping and bunker practice area, is available to golfers before play. Golf carts are available for hire, weather permitting.

Outeniqua

Fancourt’s Outeniqua golf course offers a leisurely and entertaining golfing experience. It provides a more forgiving terrain than its counterpart, the Montagu, but offers its fair share of challenges to keep golfers interested.

Also designed by Gary Player and named after the Outeniqua Mountains, the course can comfortably accommodate a large field of golfers. A detailed stroke saver takes golfers through the course, providing distance measurements and images that assist players with navigating the course. Before play, a warm up area, featuring a full length range and a chipping and bunker practice area, is available to golfers. Golf carts are available for hire, weather permitting.

The Links At Fancourt (A Privately Owned Club)

Sculpted into what Gary Player has described as his greatest feat as a course designer, The Links is the golfing hallmark of the Fancourt estate. Featuring an undulating, windswept terrain and dune style landscape, the course is the collaborative handiwork of golfing icon, Gary Player, course designer, Phil Jacobs, and Fancourt’s owner, Dr. Hasso Plattner. The Links is currently voted number one in the country by Golf Digest South Africa.

The Links Experience

A 9 hole golf course designed by Gary Player. This short course offers a world class golfing experience tailored for players seeking a fast paced yet challenging round amidst the breathtaking landscapes of the Garden Route.

The Spa at Fancourt

The Spa at Fancourt has an indoor heated Roman Bath and world class wellness treatments. Everything is inspired by the harmony of the four elements. Air, water, fire, and earth. All facilities and treatments echo this inspiration, leaving you feeling truly grounded.

Choose from a range of holistic skin and body treatments. Make use of the complimentary facilities such as the heated ozone Roman Bath and Jacuzzi (adults only), sauna, steam room, and tepidarium.

Leisure Center

The Leisure Center offers activities for the little ones at its dedicated Kidz Club and for teens at the Teen Lounge. Swimming Pools

The Leisure Center offers guests a choice of two swimming pools. One outdoor pool with a Jacuzzi, perfect for summer days. And a heated indoor pool, ideal for swimming, no matter the weather.

After a refreshing dip, you could choose to relax at the edge of the pool and enjoy cocktails and light meals at The Poolside Café. Soak up the South African sunshine while you enjoy a relaxed outdoor dining experience that will appeal to the entire family. The Poolside Café is seasonal.

Tennis & Multicourt

Try a game of tennis, basketball, or netball against the picturesque backdrop of the Outeniqua Mountains. Two of these courts are equipped with floodlights, allowing individuals to play during the evening. Complimentary tennis rackets and balls are available.

Padel

The Ridge now offers two world class padel courts, giving both members and guests the chance to enjoy one of the fastest-growing sports in the world. Surrounded by the scenic beauty of Fancourt, the courts provide a vibrant and social setting for both casual play and competitive matches.

Fishing

Take advantage of the peaceful surroundings and spend a day outdoors, attempting to catch a large fish at one of Fancourt’s fishing dams. Novice and seasoned anglers alike will enjoy a day of fishing while observing catch-and-release practice. The Leisure Centre provides complimentary fishing rods and tackle to visitors.

Leisure Trails

Enjoy the crisp mountain air while exploring the 613-hectare estate along the leisure trails at Fancourt. Take a leisurely stroll, jog, or bike ride along the 2.5km, 5km or 10km outdoor trails. The Botanical Walk is a trail on offer for plant enthusiasts, where many indigenous plant species can be seen. Bicycles are available for use from the Leisure Centre. This is a great way to enjoy the scenery of the Garden Route.

Kidz Club & Teen lounge

The Kidz Club is for the little ones aged from three years to 10 years old, with fun activities to keep them busy. Jungle gyms, arts and crafts and movies are just a few of the activities at the Kidz Club. For the teens, there’s the Teen Lounge, fully equipped for fun, with foosball, a pool table, table tennis, video games, game consoles and ‘chill zones’.

Four top restaurants each offer a distinctive dining experience to appeal to every palate.

At Fancourt, the appreciation of good food and wine is regarded almost as highly as the game of golf. As such, the estate’s two restaurants each cater to a different occasion, from relaxed family suppers to more bespoke experiences with fine wines to match. Getting to Fancourt Hotel and Manor House

Fancourt is only 7 km from George Airport. Driving from Cape Town is 4hr 45 minutes on the N2 or 5hr 48 minutes on Route 62. To drive from Port Elizabeth / Gqeberha is 3hr 46 minutes on the N2 or 4hr 12 minutes on Route 62.
