After meeting your personal guide at the international airport; you depart via Windhoek and the Central Plateau to the Namib Desert. The NamibRand Nature Reserve is a vast privately owned reserve covering almost 200 000 hectares that borders the Namib Naukluft Park. It is south of Sossusvlei in southwestern Namibia.

Day 2, Namibrand Nature Reserve
Whether you discover nature’s miracles on foot, by landrover, or from the air; the multifaceted desert habitats will astound you. Scenic drives, flights, and / or nature walks with resident guides reveal the fascinating wonders of the NamibRand Nature Reserve; as do picnics in the wild, sundowners on the dunes, and dinners by candlelight. The special attraction of the reserve is its diversity of landscape. Virtually all facets of the Namib are here; creating a living tapestry of colors and shapes that makes it a visual utopia for artists and photographers.

Day 3, Kulala Wilderness Reserve
Your journey takes us on a short scenic drive north; to the edge of the NamibRand Nature Reserve and the well-appointed Kulala Desert Lodge; which is in the striking Kulala Wilderness Reserve; a vast desert wilderness adjacent to the Namib Naukluft National Park. With its rolling desert plains and backdrop of craggy mountains and iconic red dunes; this is a place where time seems to stand still and the space is neverending. Here it’s not about chasing the big game; but rather soaking up the beauty of the colorful landscape, admiring the antelope that scatter the sand; not to mention; gazing at the stars that light up the night sky.
The camp comprises 23 x thatched and canvas tents, each built on a wooden platform; with a flat rooftop for sleepouts under the stars. The main area includes a pool and a wraparound veranda overlooking a waterhole. Kulala celebrates the splendor and solitude of the Namib Desert. Explore this fascinating landscape on excursions to Sossusvlei (via a gate exclusive to Wilderness Safaris vehicles); nature drives, walks, and eco-sensitive quad biking.

Day 4, Swakopmund
An early start from the Lodge; you enter the Namib Naukluft Park at sunrise with your guide; while the temperature is still mild and when the dune contrasts are at their best. At Dune 45; which is close to the road, you’ll stop to fully realize the sheer size of the dunes in this area. Your next highlight awaits you after a gradual guided walk up to Deadvlei; which is a ‘must-do’ for any visitor. The more energetic have the opportunity to climb to the upper ridge of Big Daddy Dune; one of the highest dunes in this area!
Returning to Sesriem our journey takes further across scenic desert routes to the Atlantic coastline and charming town of Swakopmund. Here you have the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 5, Swakopmund
This day promises both relaxation and adventure. On a marine cruise on the calm waters of the Walvis Bay peninsula; you enjoy the interaction with Cape fur seals, dolphins, leatherback turtles, and maybe even whales and Orcas; while sipping cold sparkling wine and fresh oysters and snacks. The afternoon is at leisure. Swakopmund offers a wide variety of activities including scenic flights, quad biking, dune boarding, desert explorations, and so much more.

Day 6, Damaraland
Departing northwards along the Atlantic Ocean you proceed inland; past the majestic Brandberg Mountain (Namibia’s highest peak) into Damaraland; one of the most geologically diverse and untouched wilderness areas in Africa.
Your luxurious lodge meaning “The place of God” is amid huge granite boulders; with awesome views of the surrounding terrain. During the cooler afternoon hours; you take part in an excursion that takes us to visit Southern Africa’s largest open-air museum at Twyfelfontein. This World Heritage Site has more than 2500 different rock engravings; from when the Bushmen inhabited this land some 6000 years ago.

Day 7, Etosha National Park
After breakfast depart on a guided nature drive to explore the surrounding area and search for animal life; such as the desert-adapted elephants and desert black rhinos. After the return to the lodge; you drive on to a privately owned farm near the border to the Etosha National Park.
The Etosha Oberland Lodge is in a 5000 hectare game reserve; that shares a 10 km border with the Etosha National Park which combines luxury with ample privacy. The main area and restaurant of the Lodge are surrounded by shady trees in a wild, ancient garden. When entering the open lobby area with bar and outside seating area; the view immediately wanders into the wide open space; the chances are high you will spot the first animals in the distance. A guided nature drive on the Private Reserve highlights the afternoon further.

Day 8, Etosha National Park
After breakfast, enjoy a full day game drive in the Etosha National Park, traveling from west to east. With 114 different animals and 340 different bird species; this park belongs to the world’s most diverse wildlife parks and promises to be an unforgettable game experience.
Your lodge is outside the park, around a busy waterhole; where wildlife come to quench their thirst right in front of your luxury tent.

Day 9, Etosha National Park
This morning you enter the park again by open vehicle for a half day game drive. The park surrounds a parched salt desert known as the Etosha Pan. The park is home to 4 of the Big Five; elephant, lion, leopard, and rhino; its waterholes support a rich diversity of birds and mammals. In the afternoon we enjoy a sundowner drive on the Onguma Reserve in an open vehicle.

Day 10, AfriCat Foundation
After breakfast, you proceed south to the home of the AfriCat Foundation. You can witness some of the foundations’ work; which is committed to researching and also rehabilitating Namibia’s threatened wild cat populations. With the abundance of animal and birdlife and spectacular scenery; Okonjima is a photographer’s paradise. Activities today include cheetah or leopard tracking, a leopard feed, a bushman walk or the night feeds of nocturnal wildlife.

Day 11, Departure
Start the day off with a scenic morning walk before breakfast. Return to Windhoek; where you will arrive in the early afternoon. Includes breakfast.
