Tanzania is a safari ‘bucket list’ destination and we have accommodation to suit all budgets and requests. We do tend to focus on the more upmarket accommodation options as it is important to maintain our excellent reputation. However, if you have a special request, please do let us know as we are able to book most of the lodges / camps.

Tanzania Safari Accommodation
Giraffe and Zebra

With all the incredible game rich national parks in Tanzania, it is sometimes best to focus on a circuit. Especially if you have limited time. The circuits are Northern, Southern, Western, and Coastal Circuit. For more information on the circuits, have a look at our Tanzania page.

Getting to your Tanzania accommodation is all part of the fun. A traffic jam usually consists of waiting for wildlife to cross the roads, except in the cities.

Lodges and camps are often not very big so it is important to book well in advance. Especially for the Wildebeest Migration in Tanzania. The precise timing of the Wildebeest Migration changes annually and it is a very unpredictable and spontaneous natural event. But the bulk of it happens in the Tanzanian Northern Circuit (Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti National Park).  And Kenya’s Masai Mara. We will advise you of migration patterns and where best to stay on receipt of your inquiry.

Tanzania Accommodation

Tanzania accommodation is based at its prime attractions and you will see the accommodation options by clicking on these links.
Arusha – the gateway to the Northern Tanzania circuit and the great wildebeest migration.
Katavi National Park – off the beaten track safari.
Lake Manyara National Park – on the way to Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti if you are traveling from Arusha. It is well worth a stop in its own right and has tree climbing lions – something that is quite unusual for lions.
Mount Kilimanjaro –  the world’s highest free-standing mountain.
Ngorongoro Crater – a must see Tanzania destination. The largest unbroken caldera in the world and also home to the wildebeest migration. This is where the wildlife have their young and therefore a big draw card to the predators!
Nyerere National Park (Selous) – One of the best ‘secrets of Africa’.
Ruaha National Park – a remote bastion of spectacular wilderness, undisturbed wildlife, and breathtaking scenery.
Serengeti National Park – not only home to the wildebeest migration, it has fantastic wildlife all year round.
Tarangire National Park – has the highest population density of elephants anywhere in Tanzania. It is a magical place – one of the most scenic parks.

If you don’t see the accommodation you are looking for, let us know. Not all lodges are listed on our site.

If it is your honeymoon, visit Tanzania Honeymoons to see which accommodation has special offers for your Tanzania honeymoon.  We even do weddings in Tanzania. This website covers Zanzibar separately as it is such a popular destination on its own. Or as a combination of safari and Zanzibar accommodation or honeymoon.
