Arusha Coffee Lodge lies on the gently rolling foothills that cascade down from Mount Meru on the outskirts of the bustling and vibrant town of Arusha. The lodge is hidden amongst one of Tanzania’s largest coffee plantations, Burka Coffee Estate. It is also close to Arusha airport and situated along the road leading to Tanzania’s most famous national parks. These include Tarangire, Manyara, and Serengeti National Parks and Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This, therefore, makes it the best place to begin and end a safari.

At 1400 meters, Arusha has a cool comfortable climate. Arusha town is also the commercial center for the mining of Tanzanite. This precious stone is only found in Tanzania and is said to be a thousand times rarer than diamonds.

Arusha Coffee Lodge is a delightful sanctuary of aromas, gourmet food, and vibrant gardens. The main area incorporates a restaurant, a café bistro, various boutiques at the Traders Walk, and a spa. In the extensive gardens of the lodge is a swimming pool.

Arusha Coffee Lodge Accommodation

Arusha Coffee Lodge has been designed around the original landowner’s home that dates back to the early 1900s. The rooms and suites spill off to the left of the main area. Each looks out onto coffee trees and surrounding gardens. Comprising of 30 x Plantation Houses that radiate out into the evergreen coffee fields. There are 18 x Plantation Rooms and 12 x Plantation Suites with a maximum capacity of 69 guests.

Reminiscent of traditional plantation houses outside, the rooms and suites are modern and spacious inside. All furnishings and amenities were designed with ultimate comfort in mind. Arusha Coffee Lodge combines the warmth of an African welcome with the familiarity of a boutique hotel.

Plantation Rooms (45m2)

Plantation Rooms are cozy and comfortably furnished rooms nestled among the aromatic coffee trees. There is an inviting in-room log fire and an en suite bathroom with shower and bath. The rooms also have a verandah overlooking the surrounding green coffee garden. There are 8 x doubles, 4 x twins, and 6 x triples.

Plantation Suites (58m2)

The Plantation Suites are spacious, modern yet homely retreats among the coffee trees. They all have a private outside terrace with a log fire. The attractive décor reflects the omnipresent theme of coffee. Bathrooms have a soothing rainfall shower and a generous bathtub. Relax and unwind in the lounge area with a TV with satellite service. There are 4 x doubles, 5 x twins, and 3 x convertibles.

Arusha Coffee Lodge Dining

The Grill Room restaurant and The Bistro boast menus to satisfy the most discerning of palates. They successfully fuse international culinary prowess with locally sourced ingredients. The Bistro also has a wood fired pizza oven. Other culinary delights are the garden lunches. A 4 course alfresco buffet hosted daily in the garden. Or the traditional Swahili food offerings at Jikoni in the Trader’s Walk. For those wishing to have ‘lunch on the go’, a delicious Picnic Lunch Box can be made up to suit most tastes / dietary requests.
