Victoria Falls is known as the adventure capital of Africa. This allows couples to easily transition from heart pounding activities by day to deeply intimate, secluded luxury by night.
A classic Victoria Falls itinerary lasts 3 to 4 nights. This allows couples to mix classic sightseeing with a few signature experiences combining luxury, adventure, and cultural immersion. Victoria Falls flows all year on the Zimbabwe side so it can visited all year. However, the Falls are at their lowest from around October/November to early January. This is when there is very little water remaining on the Zimbabwe side. On the Zambian side of Victoria Falls, it is predominantly dry exposing the raw geological rock face. But, this makes it the best time to visit Angels or Devil’s Pool on the Zambian side. Plus for white water rafting. We will arrange transfers for you. This is where you can swim on the very edge of Victoria Falls! It is an amazing experience.
To see the Falls in full flood, February/March to April/May is the best. Don’t forget, you will get very wet and it is difficult to see the Falls through the spray! However, the aerial helicopter views are spectacular. From sometime in May, the waters drop so it is easy to capture the actual Falls and not get too wet!
The weather is cooler and dry between June to October. Vegetation thins out, making it an incredible time to pair the Falls with a safari in the adjacent Zambezi National Park or nearby Chobe (Botswana).
The most famous hotel in Victoria Falls is The Victoria Falls Hotel and honeymooners love it close proximity to the Falls. However, more and more luxury honeymooners are opting to stay slightly outside the hustle and bustle of the main town. Choosing properties nestled along the Zambezi River or within the Zambezi National Park where privacy and wildlife viewing come standard. Prime examples of these are The Elephant Camp, Victoria Falls River Lodge and Old Drift Lodge.
