The 110m2 air-conditioned luxurious thatched tents are constructed of canvas, glass, and wood. Extending out onto a private deck with a private plunge pool. All the Luxury Tented Suites offer a huge king bed (can be twin), a comfortable sitting area, and an open-plan bathroom. With a freestanding bath. There are both indoor and outdoor showers. Each of the rooms affords spectacular panoramic views of the Zambezi River and its surroundings.
Luxury Family Tents (x 5)
In addition to the host of amenities available in the Luxury Tent, the 119m2 Luxury Family Tents offer guests traveling as a family an adjoining tented room. Where up to three children younger than 17 years old can sleep comfortably. They have either one ¾ sized bed and one bunk bed, or twin ¾ sized beds. An adjoining children’s alcove allows parents a bit more privacy while still keeping their children in close proximity.
The expansive en-suite bathrooms are open plan with a curtain between the bathroom and main living area to offer privacy. They have twin vanities, a private toilet, indoor and outdoor showers, and a private and freestanding bathtub.

Malachite Tented Suites (x 6)
A short 2.5km / 1.5 mile boat trip downstream from Victoria Falls River Lodge, you will find the Malachite Suites. Named after the small and vibrant Malachite Kingfisher bird that frequents the area. Each spacious air-conditioned canvas suite offers ceiling to floor glass windows. Enhancing the views from every angle. An innovative modern design with clean lines, lots of natural light and unique décor touches in earthy tones. Summed up at ‘Art Deco meets Afrocentric’. The Hippo Creek Villa has two x king / twin suites and 1 x family suite. The family suite can sleep two adults and two children (17 years and younger). It offers a seamless connection between the main bedroom and children’s room and includes a private family lounge.
The villa features private decks with plunge pools, overlooking the legendary Zambezi River with a lounge and dining area. They also have open plan bathrooms with free-standing indoor baths and indoor/outdoor showers. Plus all the other luxury amenities one would expect at a 5* lodge such as air conditioning, ceiling fans, coffee machine/tea making facilities. And of course, a complimentary mini-bar in each suite.
The villa can sleep a maximum of 6 adults and 2 children who are 17 years or younger. It includes the use of the villa’s private dining and lounge facilities. Alternatively; it can be booked by sharing guests; who are looking for a more exclusive experience. This means that guests will have private accommodation and shared use of the villa’s private dining and lounge facilities.

The brand new Rapids View Villa boasts two family units that can sleep 4 x adults and 4 – 6 x children. This depends on the ages of the children. The family units either face upstream or downstream offering privacy for both families. The Villa includes an amazing entertaining space which is perfect for a group of friends or extended family. The children’s rooms are carefully curated to satisfy the needs of younger guests.
Rapids View Villa offers panoramic vistas of an ever-evolving water body and landscape. The villa boasts interconnected, comfortable, and lively interior and exterior spaces that encourage group interaction and all-day enjoyment. Each room has an en suite bathroom. As well as exterior private decks and plunge pools where guests can break away ensuring personal comfort and privacy from communal areas and interactions.

Birding Safari
Victoria Falls River Lodge and the Zambezi National Park are truly bird watchers’ paradise. With over 400 species documented in the region. The Zambezi National Park and Rain forest have a decent network of roads and pathways. Therefore access to these ecosystems is reasonably easy. And boating allows you to reach up into riverine fringes.
Victoria Falls River Lodge also offers walking routes into the Zambezi National Park. Also available to kids 12 years and older, with parental supervision.
The hot, wet summer months of November to March are the best months for bird watching in the Victoria Falls area. This is when resident species display breeding plumage while intra-African and Palaearctic migrants are still around.
Local bird species include: Rock Pratincole, Schalow’s Turaco, African Finfoot, Half Collared Kingfisher, Thick Billed Weaver, African Skimmer, Pels Fishing Owl, Collared Palm Thrush, and Western Banded Snake Eagle; to name but a few.
Guests at Victoria Falls River Lodge, rarely have to venture far from their private decks. The rich greenery surrounding the camp provides sufficient opportunity to observe many of Zimbabwe’s stunning assortment of bird life.

For the ultimate Victoria Falls safari experience; head out in a game-viewer to explore the 150,000 acres that make up the Zambezi National Park. Elephants, hippos, crocodiles, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, sable, kudu, impala wild dog; plus the occasional big cat can be viewed in the park. Just to name but a few.
The morning game drives allow you to be the first to catch the ‘bush telegraphs’ early broadcast of the previous night’s events. Armed with hot beverages and a delicious supply of traditionally baked ‘rusks’.

Guests need only settle for the National Park fees upon entry into the Rain forest.
Tour of the town of Victoria Falls
The town itself is becoming a hive of entertainment with bars and restaurants springing up making this once sleepy hollow; a vibrant and exciting hub. Other activities are on offer in town and all within walking distance of the actual Falls. You can even cross over into the Zambian side of the Falls; if you wish. Keep in mind visa requirements.
Victoria Falls River Lodge accommodation rate includes a transfer to Victoria Falls town or the Falls themself. This transfer usually departs at 10 am and returns at 3 pm every day.
Zambezi National Park Walking Safari: Walking Safaris are not always about spotting predators or big animals, but rather the little – often overlooked – things.
Fishing Safaris: Fishing in the Upper Zambezi River by boat is an exhilarating experience and guests could catch anything from the coveted Tiger Fish to Barbel, Catfish or Cornish Jack.

Game Drives and River Cruises
Game drives for children aged 8 years and older are included in the accommodation rate. They promise to be an adventurous family activity.
The Junior Discoverer’s Drive is also free of charge. Aimed at children aged 4 – 7 years old who are accompanied by at least one parent. Drive times take place outside of the standard game drive times. Subject to vehicle capacity.
Families wishing to take children aged 4 – 7 years on game drives during standard early morning/late afternoon game drive times will require a sole use game viewer at an additional cost.
Children aged 4 years and older are permitted on the standard river cruises. Guests of all ages love this family activity and are mesmerized by the abundant wildlife and beautiful scenery of the mighty Zambezi River.
Children aged 1 – 3 years are not permitted on the river cruises or game drives.
Bush Walks
The Young Bushwhackers is another fun activity not to be missed, aimed at children aged 4 – 11 years old. The children are taken on a walk on the “wild side”. With a qualified guide within the camp surrounds and riverbanks immediately in front of the lodge. Parents and siblings can also participate in the Young Bushwhackers’ fun.

Getting to Victoria Falls River Lodge
The drive from the Victoria Falls Airport to the entrance of Zambezi National Park takes approximately 25 minutes. Or 50 minutes from Livingstone Airport (with border formalities). From there it is a short drive to your chosen lodge. Plus a boat transfer for the island suites.
