The larger and more spacious superior tents feature beautiful Maasai-inspired interiors; that showcase a simple and contemporary use of local materials. Oversized beds are perfectly positioned to make the most of the views; while stained cypress wood furniture combines with tribal decorative elements. Indulge in beautifully roomy ensuite bathrooms and private verandas with comfortable day beds.
There are 8 x superior view tents and 20 x superior tents. The superior-view tents offer premium panoramic views of the Masai Mara. While the remaining 20 x superior tents offer either slightly interrupted views of the Masai Mara or glimpses of the Masai Mara through the shade of the forest (which is excellent for bird lovers); or picturesque scenes of a nearby escarpment.

There are three family units that comprise two x interconnected tents with an en-suite bathroom, and a private veranda; that can accommodate two adults and two children (three on special request). There are three x triple tents at Kichwa Tembo in the Superior Tents. One extra bed is set up for children 16 years or younger; in the parents’ room.

Children aged twelve years and older may go on the game drives. Children aged six to twelve are permitted on game drives; at the lodge manager’s discretion. While children younger than six cannot participate in game drives; childminders can be arranged during game drives and meal times at an additional cost. If paying for a private vehicle; children of any age may go on a game drive. Access to sightings is at the discretion of the guide, based on the behavior of both children and animals. Greater distances to animals may be adhered to or certain sightings may be avoided; in order to ensure the safety of all.

Activities Offered at andBeyond Kichwa Tembo Camp
Game drives in the Masai Mara are unforgettable due to the abundance of wildlife and the spectacular landscapes. With gently rolling hills and wide open plains; this is the quintessential African safari experience. Travelers can expect to encounter large numbers of animals all year round, with big herds of elephants, buffalo, and other plains game. It is also common to see predator interaction. The Great Wildebeest Migration passes through the Mara for approximately three months each year. Game drives may last from a couple of hours to the whole day, with a picnic breakfast and lunch.

The camp also offers a range of additional activities; such as; bush walks, community excursions, a well-equipped gym, and wellness treatments in the massage sala.
Hot Air Balloon Over the Masai Mara
Experience the beauty of the Masai Mara on a hot air balloon flight. Take off at dawn and float in whichever direction the morning winds take you. Your altitude may vary from treetop height or lower; which offers a unique perspective and great photographic opportunities; to 300 meters ( 1 000 feet), showcasing the vastness of the panorama. From time to time the pilot must put more heat into the balloon with the powerful burners. In between these burns, there is silence apart from the natural sounds below.
Dotted in between this lush terrain; you can spot the heads of gentle giraffe foraging from the top of leafy trees; slumbering elephants swaying in the cool breeze; graceful gazelles leaping through the vast expanse, and pods of hippos splashing in the water. Look further and you may see prowling predators stalking across the savanna.
The hot air balloon flight lasts about an hour; followed by champagne and a full English breakfast.
