Relax in comfort and style at Fancourt Hotel’s Classic Rooms. Classic Rooms overlook the Outeniqua Mountains, gardens, or the Montagu Golf Course. They provide the perfect setting for unwinding after a day of making the most of the estate’s many leisure activities. Classic Rooms are ideal for couples and solo travelers. Families can request an adjacent or interconnecting room. The Classic Rooms have either a patio or balcony and are situated on the first floor.

Luxury Rooms (40m²)

Fancourt’s Luxury Rooms offer stylish modern accommodation, overlooking the Outeniqua Mountains, gardens, or golf warm-up area. A coffee or cup of tea on your patio or balcony provides the perfect start to a day of entertainment or relaxation at Fancourt. Luxury Rooms have patios or balconies and are situated on the ground or first floor.
Limited inter-leading rooms are available on the first and ground floor.

One Bedroom Suite (58-70 m²)

Fancourt’s One Bedroom Suites are perfectly suited for business and leisure travelers. With a separate living area, the One Bedroom Suites are a spacious haven where guests can unwind. Each suite has a private balcony or patio designed to showcase the idyllic views of Fancourt’s manicured estate. Suites with fireplaces are available on request – highly recommended in the winter.

The Manor House

The Manor House, Fancourt’s original homestead, is a national monument (circa 1859). Originally owned by Henry Fancourt White, the engineer who supervised the construction of the Montagu Pass. This incredible mountain pass goes from the city of George over the Outeniqua mountain range to the town of Oudtshoorn. The Manor House has been rejuvenated as a luxury hotel on the extensive Fancourt resort.

The Manor House offers a unique combination of classic opulence and the indulgent sophistication of a 21st century boutique hotel with 18 x extraordinary suites. All offer personalized, butler style service. Expect understated luxury and exclusivity when you stay at The Manor House. Presidential Suite (155m²)

Palatial living awaits guests of The Manor House’s Presidential Suite. It has two bedrooms, an open plan lounge, a dining room, en-suite bathrooms, and a separate guest bathroom. Designed to cater to refined tastes, the Presidential Suite combines many of the original wooden ceiling finishes with bespoke furniture and ornate chandeliers. A spacious, private balcony leads off from the dining area, providing guests with scenic views of The Manor House’s manicured gardens. With no detail spared, the Presidential Bedroom is the crown jewel of The Manor House.

Choose from adjacent rooms or spacious one- and two-bedroom suites. The entire Fancourt Estate is every kid’s and parent’s playground, offering ample space and natural surroundings to roam freely.

Get out and about as a family and explore all the activities and beaches nearby. The Fancourt Kidz Club at the Leisure Center offers fully supervised activities for children aged 3-10. Putting parents’ minds at ease, this facility is managed by a trained and experienced team. The trendy Teen Lounge provides teens with their fair share of age appropriate activities, gaming facilities, and entertainment. Fancourt has on-site CPR and First Aid trained babysitters who will provide dependable childcare to ensure a worry-free stay.

The following children’s rates and policy are applicable:
0 to 3 years of age: free of charge.
4 to 15 years: 50% of the per person sharing rate.
16+ years is an adult thus normal room rates will apply.
Two children sharing with 2 adults can only stay in a One or Two bedroom suite.
One child sharing with 2 adults can stay in a luxury, a One bedroom or a Two bedroom suite.
All children staying in their own room will pay full paying adult rates based on the room category.

For keen golfers, Fancourt needs no introduction. There are three Gary Player designed 18 hole golf courses. all ranked in the Top 20 in South Africa. As well as The Links Experience (9 hole) and a Golf Academy.

Montagu Golf Course

Fancourt’s Montagu Golf Course, originally designed by Gary Player, has earned a world class reputation as one of the finest 18 hole parkland layouts. It holds the prestigious 5th position on South Africa’s Top 100 Courses. Golfers can expect a challenging, yet highly enjoyable golfing experience surrounded by the natural beauty of the Fancourt estate.

This tree lined course covers large tracts of varying terrain across an undulating indigenous landscape. A detailed stroke saver takes golfers through the course, providing distance measurements and images that assist players with navigating the course. A warm up area, featuring a full length range and a chipping and bunker practice area, is available to golfers before play. Golf carts are available for hire, weather permitting.

Outeniqua

Ranked 20th by South Africa’s Top 100 Courses experts, Fancourt’s Outeniqua golf course offers a leisurely and entertaining golfing experience. It provides a more forgiving terrain than its counterpart, the Montagu, but offers its fair share of challenges to keep golfers interested.

Also designed by Gary Player and named after the Outeniqua Mountains, the course can comfortably accommodate a large field of golfers. A detailed stroke saver takes golfers through the course, providing distance measurements and images that assist players with navigating the course. Before play, a warm up area, featuring a full length range and a chipping and bunker practice area, is available to golfers. Golf carts are available for hire, weather permitting.

The Links At Fancourt (A Privately Owned Club)

Sculpted into what Gary Player has described as his greatest feat as a course designer, The Links is the golfing hallmark of the Fancourt estate. Featuring an undulating, windswept terrain and dune style landscape, the course is the collaborative handiwork of golfing icon, Gary Player, course designer, Phil Jacobs, and Fancourt’s owner, Dr. Hasso Plattner. The Links is currently voted number one in the country by Golf Digest South Africa.

Bramble Hill

Bramble Hill is also designed by Gary Player Design Co. It is Fancourt’s shortest offering with 6 holes. Although not as pedigreed as Outeniqua, Montagu, and The Links, it does contain some of the same DNA.

It has a furrowed terrain with undulating fairways and pot bunkers. Like The Links, the greens are elevated and full of mischievous inclines and hollows. The very short par-3 5th provides a good opportunity to gaze across the course, with the picturesque Outeniqua mountains providing a breathtaking backdrop.

For the closing 6th hole, Bramble Hill mimics the parkland persona of Montagu and Outeniqua Courses. This hole, whilst not quite as imposing is good enough to ensure a testing finish at one of its most idiosyncratic holes.

The course offers 3 Par 3’s, 2 Par 4’s, and 1 Par 5, with Par 3 tee boxes on the 2 Par 4’s and the Par 5, making a number of options playable.

The Links Experience

A newly designed nine hole golf course by legendary golfer and course architect Gary Player called The Links Experience will be available from 28th March 2025. This breathtaking addition to Fancourt’s world class golfing portfolio offers a unique and versatile playing experience. Catering to golf enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels. In order to play the The Links Experience, guests needs to play at least one of the other three courses (Outeniqua, Montagu and The Links)

La Cantina

Serving modern yet healthy Italian cuisine flavored with all the warmth of Mediterranean hospitality, La Cantina offers casual and carefree dining.

Spend quality time with your significant other or fun loving moments with the family dining at La Cantina. Culinary highlights to tempt all taste buds are our homemade pasta, succulent steaks, and famous thin based pizza, baked with care in a wood-fired pizza oven. La Cantina’s legendary tiramisu is the perfect sweet treat to round off your meal.

La Cantina is also Fancourt’s breakfast restaurant of choice. Start the day right with the fresh and healthy breakfast buffet or opt for a personal favorite from the extensive à la carte menu.

Monet’s

Feel inspired by Fancourt’s French bistro styled Monet’s. Savor casual café meals against the backdrop of the Outeniqua golf course and the beautiful Outeniqua Mountains. Boasting both local and seasonal artisan cuisine, Monet’s provides a warm ambiance from morning to late afternoon.

The Club Lounge

Overlooking the 18th green of Montagu golf course, The Club Lounge offers indoor and outdoor seating, as well as an expansive selection of steaks, burgers, and platters to stave off those hunger pangs. Simple club style meal choices ensure The Club Lounge delivers on its status as a celebrated 19th hole. While sports enthusiasts will enjoy televised sporting events, enjoying a few drinks from the well stocked bar.

Getting to Fancourt Hotel and Manor House

Fancourt is only 7 km from George Airport. Driving from Cape Town is 4hr 45 minutes on the N2 or 5hr 48 minutes on Route 62. To drive from Port Elizabeth / Gqeberha is 3hr 46 minutes on the N2 or 4hr 12 minutes on Route 62.
