Double Room and Luxury Double Rooms

These are the entry-level room categories and offer either vistas over the Cape Peninsula from the Hohenort building. Or; sprawling views over the incredible gardens from the Cellars Main House. Double rooms in the Main House are more contemporary in design. While the rooms in the Hohenort building will suit those guests who prefer a more traditional Edwardian style. Choose which suits you best. Rooms range between 27 – 45m² and sleep up to two people.

Luxury Doubles with Verandah

The Luxury Double with Verandah Rooms are located in the historic 100 year old Hohenort Manor House. They showcase Edwardian ambiance and panoramic vistas of the Cape Peninsula, False Bay, or the surrounding mountains. They also offer guests a large private balcony. The perfect romantic spot to experience the exceptional range of views on offer. The Luxury Double with Verandah Rooms are all individually decorated with the trademark Cellars-Hohenort style. These rooms are 46m² in size and sleep up to two people.

Suites

In true Cellars-Hohenort style, the Suites are all individually and tastefully decorated with a unique twist. All décor draws its inspiration from the beautiful garden surroundings. The Suites offer a spacious separate lounge area, a walk-in closet, and a mini-bar. These rooms range in size from 41 – 75m² and sleep up to two people.

Premier Suites

The 8 x individually decorated Premier Suites range in décor and design, from the traditional to the contemporary. Each Premier Suite is superbly spacious which makes them ideal for guests looking for a little extra room. Select either a one-level or split-level Premier Suite and enjoy a private walled garden or magnificent garden views. Both styles of Premier Suite boast a separate lounge, a basic kitchen area, a beautifully appointed bedroom, and a sensational en-suite bathroom. These suites range from 62-77m² in size and sleep up to two people.

Madiba Villa

The Madiba Villa is a gorgeous double story Cape-style private Villa situated in the beautiful Cellars-Hohenort gardens. It is named after former South African president Nelson Mandela. A selection of fascinating books; about Nelson Mandela’s life; make sure that it is so much more than just a Villa. It is a part of South African history.

With its own driveway leading up to its entrance, a private courtyard, and a heated swimming pool, this Villa offers guests a luxurious home away from home. It boasts a large open-plan sitting and dining room with a fireplace, built-in bar, service kitchen, and two or if need be; three double en-suite bedrooms. Therefore; it is a great option for families or friends traveling together. The perfect hideaway for guests seeking complete privacy. Each bedroom features an en-suite bathroom and walk-in cupboards. The villa is fully air-conditioned with underfloor heating to ensure maximum comfort for guests at all times. The Madiba Villa is 264m2 in size.

Two-bedroom Liz McGrath Villa

The self-contained double-story villa is a wonderful base for families or small groups. As well as VIP guests seeking complete privacy. The villa is adjacent to the fragrant herb garden. A large private courtyard leads out from the lounge and dining room that seats up to six guests. The villa features two spacious bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. It shares a private enclosed foyer with one of the Premier Suites – which can be used as an additional accommodation option. The wood-paneled, fully-equipped kitchen and a separate lounge with a fireplace and its own entrance from the foyer make the villa perfect for entertaining.

Being on the slopes of Table Mountain, means you have easy access to either use the cable car. Or for the adventurous; hike up the mountain. A short drive from The Cellars-Hohenort is the acclaimed Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden. With its treetop canopy walkway, affectionately named The Boomslang or tree snake.

The Table Mountain National Park stretches all the way to Cape Point, on the edge of the peninsula. Journey here for staggering seaside cliffs, pristine mountain walks, and white sand beaches. Not to be missed is Boulders Beach, where beach-goers share the sand with endangered African penguins. The penguins can also be viewed in the protected areas via a boardwalk.

With its spectacular scenery, the Western Cape is a paradise for cyclists and as such hosts a number of cycling events throughout the year. There are also incredible routes for mountain bikers. Long-distance runners are spoiled for choice, too. With beautiful trails and official marathons, including the Two Oceans, which has been dubbed the “most beautiful marathon in the world”.

Adventure-seekers can take to the sky by paragliding off Signal Hill, abseil from the top of Table Mountain, skydive on the West Coast, and so much more. Such as; plunging into the ocean depths for shark-cage diving, or jumping over meter-high waves while kite-surfing.
