Singita Boulders Luxury Lodge sits along the boulder strewn banks of the Sand River, in the Sabi Sand Nature Reserve. It seamlessly blends the beautiful light, colors and textures of its surrounds into vast interiors. The quiet pond alongside the thatched lounge area allows the light and the landscape inside to the wide open spaces. Where straw baskets, neutral shades, and textured fabrics complement wooden furniture. That spill onto expansive wooden decks. A contemporary air of tranquillity that honors Africa in an authentic way.
Guests can enjoy wrap around views from most parts of the natural stone lodge. And the lookout deck offers the perfect spot from which to observe wildlife drawn to the Sand River. A front row seat to 30,000 acres of untouched wilderness teeming with bird and wildlife. Including frequent leopard sightings.
Cleverly designed communal spaces provide intimate opportunities for guests to connect with each other and share stories of the sightings of the day. Such as the Copper Bar serving freshly pressed juices, espressos and cocktails.

Wining and Dining at Singita Boulders Lodge
The lodge design was inspired by the geometry of the granite forms on which it rests. Seamlessly integrating organic interiors with the raw African beauty outside. This same approach was employed in the lodge kitchen. It is front and center and guests can view the chefs in action. The kitchen is lively and light filled. Surrounded by landscaped areas to create a sense of the kitchen being outdoors. While large panels of frame less glazing allow guests to view the bustling dynamics of a working kitchen. Glass sliding doors also lead directly off the main pathway. Encouraging passersby to wander into the kitchen and mingle with the chefs.
Singita Boulders has herb and vegetable gardens. And they have streamlined procurement plus by reducing waste, this helps to minimize Singita’s footprint on the Earth and prioritize sustainability at every turn.
Wine Experience
Singita is recognized as one of Africa’s most influential collectors of wine. With an extensive cellar showcasing a premium selection of wines. Including some of the continent’s most sought-after private reserves, exclusive release, limited single vineyard and rare auction wines. It’s safe to say that wine is a key ingredient of the unique Singita experience.
The Singita wine list has received numerous awards of excellence, the top Diners’ Club Wine List accolade. As well as recognition from countless other local and international organizations.
Personalized wine tastings within the unique ambience of the lodge’s own temperature controlled cellar are a true guest favorite. For connoisseurs and casual tasters alike. Singita’s experienced sommeliers are able to guide guests through a variety of wine styles, years and cultivars to find the wines most suited to their individual tastes.
As with all that Singita does, community upliftment is central to the Singita wine program as well. François Rautenbach has created a special training program for enthusiastic young wine lovers. Developing the next generation of sommeliers for Africa.
Community Upliftment and Sustainability
In South Africa, the Singita Lowveld Trust manages a wide range of conservation projects in Singita Sabi Sand and Singita Kruger National Park. From anti-poaching initiatives to wildlife research & land management. Sustainability efforts and community partnership projects such as early childhood development, digital learning and a world-class culinary school.
A highly skilled team of tracking dogs and handlers enhance anti-poaching efforts in the Sabi Sand Reserve. While the Trust’s partnership with the global conservation NGO Panthera has shown that the area is home to the largest density of leopards of any protected area surveyed in South Africa. The Panthera’s Furs for Life project, of which Singita is a partner, has reduced the demand for leopard skins with 50%.
Best Time to go on Safari
Southern Africa is a year round destination. Traditionally the dry winter months (April to October) are best for game viewing. This is due to the shorter grass, lack of foliage and the absence of water which forces the game to concentrate around the remaining sources of drinking water.
Annual rainfall, usually in the form of short afternoon thunder showers that clear up within an hour, occur from December to March. Many species give birth to their young around the start of the rains, so the bush is alive with newborn animals.
To ensure your comfort you may want to tailor your clothing choices to the time of year:
October to April:
The weather is warm during the day and cooler in the morning and evenings. We recommend casual summer clothes (shorts and cool shirts) and a warm jersey/sweater for the cooler times of day.
May to September:
This is fall and winter and the temperature will be mild during the day, but colder in the mornings and evenings. We recommend casual light clothing and a very warm parka/jacket for the extremely cold mornings and nights.
