Chobe National Park has a large elephant population that is currently estimated at more than 120,000. The Chobe elephant is migratory. They make seasonal movements of up to 200 kilometers from the Chobe and Linyanti Rivers, where they concentrate in the dry season. To the pans in the southeast of the park, to which they disperse in the rains. This is Big 5 territory, so all the wildlife is present, and vast birdlife. It is an excellent safari destination.
Chobe Safari Lodges are on the border of Chobe National Park in the small town of Kasane. Kasane lies at the northern apex of Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Caprivi.
Game drives are in open 4×4 vehicles led by professional guides. Motorized boat safaris are also on offer on the Chobe River, and sunset cruises are spectacular.
