Chobe National Park is known for its elephant population which is currently estimated at around 120,000. The Chobe elephant is migratory. They make seasonal movements of up to 200 kilometers from the Chobe and Linyanti rivers; where they concentrate in the dry season; to the pans in the southeast of the park, to which they disperse in the rains. This is Big 5 territory so all the wildlife is present and vast birdlife. It is an excellent safari destination.
The Chobe Safari Lodge & Chobe Bush Lodges are on the border of Chobe National Park in the small town of Kasane. Kasane lies at the northern apex of Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Caprivi.
Game drives are in open 4×4 vehicles led by professional guides. Motorized boat safaris are also on offer on the Chobe River and sunset cruises are spectacular.
