The 24 room Steenberg Hotel offers exquisite hospitality, a plush spa and plenty of history. All wrapped in understated luxury and discreet, personalized service. The original “werf “ resonates the history of the Cape. And the life and times of the fascinating and feisty Catharina Ras, who was granted the farm by Governor Simon van der Stel in the 17th century. The beautifully appointed accommodation with spectacular vineyard views, leave guests with a sense of nostalgia. Classic Rooms (x 7)

A selection of perfectly considered rooms (25m² / 269ft²). Upstairs tucked into the eaves, downstairs in the barn or in the thick-walled Manor House. Classic Rooms are light and luxurious with every detail celebrated.

Superior Rooms (x 4)

Spacious with high ceilings, large windows and luxurious seating. Curl up with a book and plan your next adventure. While sipping Steenberg bubbles and admiring the art and all the delicious details. Comfortably sized at ±35 square meters (±376 square feet).

Family Room (x 2)

Connected rooms with main area seating with the satellite TV and shared luxury bathroom. Each family room has a private patio with seating for private dining and sun loungers, a cozy relaxing family oasis. These rooms are ±50 square meters (±538 square feet).

Premier Room (x 6)

Spacious and utterly relaxing at ±57 meters square (±613 square feet). Impeccably furnished, stylish with art selected from the estate art collection. These gorgeous premier rooms have dream bathrooms with underfloor heating. Private terraces with spectacular unimpeded views of the mountains across the vines or meandering greens. Enjoy dining on the terrace or relaxing on your sun loungers.

One Bedroom Suite (x 3)

There are 3 x one bedroom suites, at 97m2 (1040 sq ft) with underfloor heating in the bathrooms.

Jonkershuis, One Bedroom Suite:

A lofty haven with high ceilings, the luxury of space, personalized art and a kitchenette and lounge. Opening onto a garden terrace with the tranquil bedroom and bathroom upstairs.

Premier, One Bedroom Suite:

Simply stylish luxury. North facing with double length terrace with privacy screening greenery/ trees. And views to the back of Table Mountain over the golf course and valley.

Manor House, One Bedroom Suite:

The historic manor house, has an east facing lounge, spacious bedroom and anteroom. All are furnished with estate antiques in contemporary style. The Suite enjoys exclusive use of the terrace overlooking the lawn and garden beyond.

Two Bedroom Villa

Absolute Luxury. Space at ±160 square meters (±1722 square feet), privacy, your own show kitchen, dining and entertaining area and sumptuous lounge. A generous patio runs the length of the villa overlooking a swathe of vineyards and your private heated pool. Two beautiful bedrooms and the bathrooms of your dreams with underfloor heating.

After a day of adventures sink into the couch, enjoy a chilled glass of Steenberg Sauvignon Blanc. And be soothed by the perfectly proportioned space, the inspiring art and the anticipation of a long relaxing soak, a light supper at home or a feast at Tryn.

Three Bedroom Villa

Absolute elegance and pared down luxury combined with an extravagance of outdoor space. The three bedroom villa has a patio leading onto the lawn and generous pool terrace. With nothing except vineyards to be seen. A kitchenette and fireplace make this an ideal home from home.

Three spacious, stylish bedrooms and exquisitely finished bathrooms, with every need anticipated and every comfort considered. Including underfloor heating in all 3 x bedrooms and their en-suite bathrooms. The suite is ±166 square meters (±1786 square feet).

Child and 3rd Person Policy

Infants below 3 years of age will be provided with a cot at no extra charge.
An additional bed can be added to Superior rooms, Premier rooms, Family rooms, Suites and Villas.
Children from 4 – 12 years old stay for free and from 13 – 17 years old stay a supplement applies.
Children over the age of 18 will be seen as adults. An adult does not qualify for an additional bed.

Steenberg Golf  Course

The Peter Matkovich golf course is consistently named one of the best conditioned courses in South Africa Golf Digest’s annual Top 100. Steenberg Golf Course attracts golfers seeking a premium golfing experience. Known for its hybrid plan, it offers traditionalists the opportunity to ‘bump and run’ (a rare shot in South Africa) in the rough around the greens. And to meet the challenges of strategically placed sand pits and waterways.

The par-three, not so short 14th hole, features the largest green in Africa at 76 meters in length. Indigenous shrubs guard the green and the mound has been shaped to echo the distinctive mountain range behind.

The 18-hole golf course was designed to make full use of natural features and hazards. Such as the vineyards, pine forest and gentle waterways. Its environmental diversity gives the course its unique character, with a backdrop of Table Mountain.

The well designed clubhouse has seen many golfers enjoying the 19th hole and hosting events. There is a pro shop and the EOGA Golf Academy.

The oldest registered farm in the Cape, Steenberg Vineyards produces a range of much-loved wines. Through a process of environmentally considerate and dedicated wine making. From vine to bottle, Steenberg’s wines are primed to produce an experience that evokes the unique terroir of the estate.
