Okavango Delta and Chobe Safari Itinerary
Day 1
On arrival at Kasane Airport (Chobe), you will transfer to Elephant Valley Lodge (about 20 minutes).
On arrival at the lodge, guests will be able to check in while enjoying a delicious welcome drink. Depending on the time of arrival, guests may enjoy lunch at 1 pm. You will then be at leisure till the game drive at 3.30 pm which is in the Chobe National Park.
The Chobe region is home to the largest population of wild elephants in the world. This is estimated to be approximately 120,000 individuals. Their sometimes daily passage takes them from Zimbabwe through the Chobe and on into Namibia. Before returning to Chobe. Elephant Valley Lodge lies on one of these routes. It is situated in the Kasane Forest, which is adjacent to the Chobe National Park.
On arrival back at camp at about 7 pm, guests will have a chance to freshen up before dinner which is at about 8 pm.
About Elephant Valley Lodge
Open guest areas, a secluded hide, a refreshing swimming pool, and 20 x Meru styled tents complete the lodge which lies beneath a forest of sturdy knob thorns. Within these treetops, the largest colony of white-back vultures occurs. The lodge is unique for several reasons. Among these is the fact that it is situated within a game rich reserve. This affords guests wonderful sightings. Either in open land rover safaris into the Chobe or boat cruises along the Chobe River.
The lodge has 12 x ‘forest tents’ in the shady canopy of trees surrounding the swimming pool. One of these ‘forest tents’ is a family tent. The family tent includes a second bedroom with twin beds and a large bathroom with a bath and shower. A further 8 x ‘valley tents’ have views overlooking the valley and water hole.
All accommodation tents are spacious and comfortable with twin three quarter beds which can be pushed together with a converter to make a double bed. They all have an en-suite shower, toilet, and basins plus tea and coffee making facilities, fan, (electric blankets in winter), hair dryers, and charging points. They each have a veranda with seating so that you can relax outside your room and enjoy the views and amazing bird life.
Day 2
Breakfast is between 7 am to 8.30 am, following which guests will then depart for a boat cruise at 8.30 am to be on the Chobe River at 9 am and then make their way into the Chobe Park. This activity is approximately three hours.
After a leisurely lunch, afternoon nap, or dip in the pool, enjoy an afternoon game drive (as above) and dinner.
Day 3
Depending on your flight time today, enjoy a morning boat cruise. Then fly by light aircraft to Mapula Air Strip (a 1 hour & 25 minute flight). On arrival you will be met for a game drive transfer to Kadizora Camp where you will spend 2 nights.
On arrival at the lodge guests will be able to check in while enjoying a delicious welcome drink. Depending on the time of arrival, lunch is at 12.30 pm. Guests will then be at leisure till high tea at 3.30 pm. Followed by a game drive, mokoro, or boat cruise activity at 4.30 pm. On arrival back at camp between 6 pm and 7 pm, guests will have a chance to freshen up before dinner which is at about 7.30 pm.
About Kadizora Camp
The NG12 Concession in the northern areas of the delta feature larger expanses of savannas punctuated by lagoons and tributaries. It is on the banks of one of these that a magnificent site has been selected for Kadizora Camp. The lodge is located near the Duba Plains and Vumbura concessions. Beneath a majestic stand of trees and along a peninsula, commanding uninterrupted panoramic vistas of the delta, the camp has been set out to afford each luxury tent absolute privacy.
Kadizora offers 3 x Standard Tents, 8 x Luxury Tents, and 1 x Deluxe Villa. Each with generous living spaces, and surrounded by sophisticated furnishing, making time between exciting wildlife experiences comfortable and tranquil.
In addition to open vehicle and walking safaris, mokoro excursions provide the ideal position from which to explore the endless flow of rivers and tributaries. This tranquil experience permits close encounters with an abundance of birds and wildlife.
Day 4
Breakfast is at 6 am for guests wanting to go on a game drive in the Okavango Delta. This departs at 6.30 am. Guests return to camp at about 10.30/11 am when they can enjoy their brunch.
Your stay includes 2 x safari activities per day so you can choose how to spend your day. The activities includes safari drive, mokoro trip, boating, or village tour.
Day 5
After breakfast and possibly a morning activity, transfer to the airstrip for your onward journey.
Or, if you are extending to the 6 night package, guests will fly on to Saguni Safari Lodge in the Khwai Concession of the Okavango Delta. On arrival, enjoy a delicious welcome drink and some quiet time.
At 3.30 pm, enjoy high tea before setting off on either a game drive, mokoro trip or village tour at about 4 pm.
On arrival back at camp, between 6.30 pm – 7 pm, freshen up before your dinner at about 7.30 pm.

On arrival back at camp, between 6.30 pm – 7 pm, freshen up before your dinner at about 7.30 pm.
Day 7
After breakfast and possibly a morning activity, transfer to the airstrip for your onward journey.
Please note: Guests requiring an early departure may be required to miss the morning activity on the day of departure. You will still get a bit of a game drive on the transfer to Khwai Airstrip.
