Ker & Downey Okuti camp sits on the banks of the Maunachira River which flows through Xakanaxa Lagoon. This is in the Moremi Game Reserve of the Okavango Delta. The river has abundant bird life, fish and sandy river banks. An oasis of serenity and peacefulness. It has been awarded five star status by Botswana Tourism Board and Eco Tourism Certified.
The Moremi Game Reserve is rich in wildlife, and its consistent year-round game viewing. This makes it ideal for repeat and first-time visitors to Botswana.
The main area consists of a dining room, bar, seating area and a swimming pool. There is an open deck for evenings around the campfire.
Okuti comprises of 5 very spacious twin or double-bedded “Masasas”. This is the ancient tribal word for house of reeds. Exceptionally unique in style and architecture all rooms overlook the permanent Maunachira channel. Each en-suite bathroom provides both an indoor and outdoor shower. Okuti Camp’s spacious curved rooms are set on raised teak decks, with a balcony overlooking the river. Connected by raised wooden walkways all areas of camp are wheelchair accessible.
Every possible comfort has been catered for. From standing and ceiling fans through to yoga mats and hair dryers!
An additional two family “Masasas” consist of two bedrooms which share spacious bathroom facilities. This is ideal for families of up to 5 people. A dedicated guide is available for families at Okuti.

Okuti Activities
The Moremi environment is varied. With pans, floodplains, lagoons, grasslands, forests of acacia trees, savannas and dense Mopane Woodlands. This unique ecosystem, characteristic of the Okavango Delta, allows for a diverse spectrum of wild life. Coupled with effective protective measures results in huge herds antelope and plains game, and the predators who follow.
Guests can experience game drives with unhindered views in specially-designed safari vehicles. Ker & Downey have a window seat guarantee. This ensures no more than four guests per vehicle and individual use of a camera mount.
A full day game drive including a picnic lunch enables guests to traverse and explore this vast natural area. Exceptionally picturesque the landscape is a photographer’s oasis. With minimal seasonal water level fluctuations the boat excursions are arguably one of the most spectacular in the Okavango Delta.
Guests can also explore the Okavango Delta waterways by motorboat. The Moremi Game Reserve is home to over 400 of the Okavango’s species of birds. The areas open lagoons and winding channels make it a birder’s paradise. Complete with herons and storks in the breeding season.

Okuti Dedicated Specialist Safaris
Would you prefer a Specialist Guide to accompany you for the duration of your stay? The Specialist Guides are well versed in all aspects of guiding including walking safaris, or photography, and family safaris. Cost of $500 in 2023 and $550 in 2024 per night. This includes the guides accommodation and flights between the Ker & Downey Botswana camps. Maximum of six guests per Specialist Guide. Depending on number of guests a private vehicle may be required.
The Specialist family safari also includes: A specially designed program which offers families the opportunity to discover the wonders of the African wilderness. The emphasis is on providing the family with engaging, age-appropriate activities. On a flexible schedule while creating shared family memories to last a lifetime. On completion of the safari, children receive a gift pack including a shirt, cap, water bottle and certificate.
Private Safari Vehicle
A private vehicle may be booked for guests requiring three or less people per vehicle. The cost for this is $500 in 2023 and $550 in 2024 per vehicle per night. This also secures private activities as offered by the camp.
