It focuses on the specific needs of the family. Your days will be spent on safari exploring the wild, pristine Botswana wilderness. There are also opportunities to engage culturally with local communities and their children.

Desert & Delta Safaris have intimate, small, and exclusive lodges, allowing for personalized service and attention to detail. The Ultimate Family Safari Packages assist families in experiencing Botswana with a choice of safari packages in a way that Botswana has never offered to traveling families before. Furthermore, each property has a dedicated “Safari Hero”. Example 7 Day Ultimate Botswana Family Safari Package Itinerary

The flexibility of the package is you choose how many lodges you would like to include and for how many nights. For example, this 6 night itinerary below:

Day 1-2: Camp Okavango, Okavango Delta

On arrival at the Maun International Airport, you will be met and transferred by light aircraft to Camp Okavango
Spend two nights at Camp Okavango in a family room on an all-inclusive basis.

Camp Okavango is in the Okavango Delta which is a World Heritage Site as it is the largest inland delta in the world. The magnificent Okavango River sprawls out over the dry sands of the Kalahari Desert forming this flourishing waterlogged oasis featuring countless meandering waterways and crystal clear lagoons studded with water lilies, as well as fertile floodplains and reeded islands inhabited with abundant wildlife. The Okavango Delta stretches over 15000 square kilometers. Visitors can enjoy several wonderful activities such as game viewing, fishing, and bird watching. They can also take an authentic guided Mokoro excursion through this wetland paradise in a traditional dugout canoe. Commonly spotted animals include: lions, rhinos, leopards, giraffes, hippos, elephants, crocodiles, and countless bird species.

Day 3-4: Camp Moremi

Catch your light aircraft transfer from Camp Okavango to Camp Moremi where you will spend 2 nights. This will be in a family room on an all-inclusive basis.

Moremi Game Reserve

Situated in the east of the Okavango Delta, Moremi Game Reserve ranks as one of the most beautiful reserves in Africa. It covers more than 4871 square kilometers of pristine wilderness, and the varied terrain includes savannah, winding waterways, and dense forest. This diverse ecosystem supports a wide spectrum of wildlife. Ranging from large herds of buffalo, wildebeest, and zebra. To the rare sitatunga and lechwe antelope, lion, cheetah, and packs of wild dogs in the open grasslands. The birdlife is prolific and includes most of the 550 bird species recorded on Botswana’s national bird list. Alternatively, guests can explore the Xakanaxa Lagoon and surrounding Okavango channels by boating safari.

Day 5-6: Savute Safari Lodge

Catch your light aircraft transfer from Camp Moremi to Savute Safari Lodge. Spend two nights at Savute Safari Lodge in a family room on an all-inclusive basis.

Savuti – Chobe National Park

Savuti, also known as Savute lies in the heart of Botswana’s beautiful Chobe National Park. This dynamic wilderness is a sweeping expanse of savannah brooded over by several rocky outcrops that guard a relic marsh and the dry channel that was once its lifeline. The Savute goes through wet and dry cycles. Where wild dogs hunt in the dry river channel where crocodiles swam only twenty years ago. Visitors to this spectacular area can spot abundant wildlife. Including a variety of birds, elephants, antelope, lion prides, black-backed jackals, bat-eared foxes, tsessebe, kudu, hyena, cheetah Cape buffalo herds, and thousands of migrating zebra and wildebeest.

Day 7: Departure

After your final morning activity and breakfast, you will catch your light aircraft transfer to Main Airport (or Kasane at a supplement).

Ultimate Botswana Family Safari Package Rates

The below rates are based on flights from Maun and back to Maun. A free night is included on stays of 8 nights or longer.

They are for children 6 years or older. If you have younger kids, please let us know which package you would like for us to quote you specifically.

Supplement for flights from Maun to Kasane (or vice versa): $216 per person
Supplement for flights from and to Kasane: $432 per person

Ultimate Botswana Family Safari Packages are based on Maun/Maun (MM), Maun/Kasane (MK.), or Kasane/ Kasane (KK) routing. However, properties with airstrips within Zone 1 (ask us for more info) can be included at the beginning or end of a package. This is at no additional charge (excluding applicable landing fees).
Should additional nights be added to the Ultimate Family Safari 10 night package, this can be done at the long stay rates with the added flights where necessary.

$ 543 per person per sector Camps/Kasane and vice versa

Best of Ultimate Botswana Family Safari Package Rates Include:

Accommodation (in the family room, subject to availability), scheduled activities, all meals, refreshments, local spirits, wines (excluding premium brands) & laundry service.
National park fees, airport departure tax, and all government levies, taxes & 14% Value Added Tax.
All scheduled charter flights on a seat in plane basis per package. They can operate to/from Maun and/or Kasane in both directions.
Dedicated family host per camp to plan activities, meals, etc.
Safari Activity Bag for children aged 6 – 15 years old.
Adapted in-camp activities for the children / family members. Such as basket weaving, animal spoor tracking, bird identification, back of house Eco tour, and more.

Extra Bonus

Families staying three nights or more at Leroo La Tau: a complimentary Makgadikgadi Pans Sleep-Out experience may be requested from 15th June to 31st October. Alternatively, a Nxai Pan day trip (all year round).
Guests staying three nights or more at Camp Okavango can book the Sleep-Out Deck experience at a surcharge (1st April – 31st October).
Sleep-Outs at Leroo La Tau and Camp Okavango are subject to availability and must be booked at the time of reservation.

Guests staying three nights or more at Nxamaseri Island Lodge may book a complimentary Tsodilo Hills Sleep-Out expedition. Valid all year for a maximum of 8 guests. Private sleep outs are available on request and subject to a surcharge.

NOTES:

The Ultimate Botswana Family Safari Packages can be booked for families with a minimum of 3 or more family members traveling together.
The private activity supplement per package must be added to all bookings.
Chobe Game Lodge cannot be included in the middle of a package itinerary.
When booking packages across different rate seasons, the applicable seasonal rates will be charged based on the number of nights that fall into the respective seasons. Please contact us for an accurate quote.
