Elewana Loisaba Tented Camp is on the beautiful Loisaba Conservancy in Laikipia. Perched on the edge of an escarpment, the camp is designed to capitalize on unhindered views across Loisaba’s mottled landscape all the way to Mt Kenya. All accommodations and main areas enjoy a breathtaking vantage point over an expansive panorama.
The inviting main areas of Loisaba Tented Camp include a large open dining area, a separate open lounge, and a bar. There is a large wooden decking area for outside dining, relaxing, and enjoying the view. And one of Africa’s most picturesque infinity pools. There is WiFi internet throughout the camp.
African-themed sophistication and style are the flavors of Loisaba Tented Camp. Spacious and airy tents are custom built with large top to bottom doors and windows, high ceilings, and polished wood floors. The tented suites are adorned with chic African furniture with a modern European twist. The bathrooms are luxurious with a double basin vanity and solar-heated hot water cascading from a rainfall shower to deliver a revitalizing cleanse after an action packed day.

Loisaba has eleven double en suite tents, seven 7m x 7m and one 9m x 9m. Each has a wide verandah and a private grassed area in front with expansive views over the Laikipia plains.
Family Combinations
The camp has three Family Combinations, each comprised of a Double Tent and a Convertible Twin/Double Tent adjoined by a walkway. Each en suite tent enjoys an inside lounge area, a verandah sitting area, a bathroom with a double basin vanity, a large shower, and an enclosed flush toilet.

Loisaba is a 57,000 acre conservancy within Laikipia County. It is owned by Loisaba Community Trust. A Kenyan Trust for wildlife and ecological conservation. The Loisaba mission is to protect and enhance critical wildlife diversity, abundance, and habitat in the Loisaba landscape. Guests see Africa as it was before fences were invented. Game Driving Day and Night
Loisaba boasts a fleet of custom designed Land Rover safari vehicles for game driving both day and night. The guides of Loisaba are all KPSGA Bronze and Silver rated and have intimate knowledge of the wildlife and culture of the area.
Loisaba’s abundant wildlife across its rolling landscape is truly wild. It is huge and you could take months exploring this land and you’d never encounter the same view twice. We can assure you that you will see the most extraordinary natural wonders. Spectacular animal life that is wild, free, and exhilarating to observe. And a kaleidoscopic variety of birds, both endemic and migratory.
Loisaba is a corridor of an elephant migration route and holds a healthy population of lions. As well as notable northern species such as the Grevy zebra, Beisa oryx, and Somali ostrich. Loisaba is one of the best places in East Africa to see Wild Dogs.

Guided Bush and Bird Walks
Leaving the car behind for a bush walk allows an up-close and intimate experience of nature. Take a walk with one of Loisaba’s excellent guides, learn how to recognize animal signs and tracks, and appreciate the smaller creatures and flora of Africa. All while enjoying the surroundings at a slower pace.
Horse Riding
Horse riding provides a chance to experience wildlife from a different perspective. Trotting through herds of zebra, impala or giraffe is an exhilarating experience. Loisaba’s horses are bush raised and trained, allowing you to get close to the wildlife.
Horse riding normally lasts for 2 hours. Only riders with experience can partake in this activity.

If you are a fishing enthusiast, we have some great dams for both catfish and tilapia! We include a short game drive to the dam, where you may see hippos and other wildlife.
Getting there
There are daily flights departing from Nairobi. Loisaba airstrip is a 1hr flight from Wilson Airport (Nairobi). It is a 15 minute drive from the airstrip to Loisaba Tented Camp.
We can arrange private charters or road transfers from anywhere in Kenya.
Elewana Loisaba Tented Camp Accommodation Rates
Loisaba Tented Camp offers either full board or ‘game package’ rates.
Full board rates include accommodation, all meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), soft drinks, beer, house wines and selected spirits, teas, coffees and refreshments (on the property), and laundry services.
Game package rates include a full board package, scheduled and shared game drives, activities including guided walking safari, bush sundowners, camel or horse riding, fishing, mountain biking, and transfers to and from designated airstrips. The transfer / game drive to the conservancy headquarters and cultural visit are also included. You just pay a small fee to the community / Loisaba’s anti-poaching activities.
Both rates exclude park fees, champagne, private cellar wines, and premium spirits/beers. They also exclude activities not specified above.
