In addition to driving on their 12,000-hectare concession, they have exclusive use of some of the Kruger National Park public roads at night. SANParks has allowed them the added advantage of being able to utilize 170km of Park roads after gate closing time. When all the self-drive tourists have left and when the other concessions have to be back on their respective properties.
A typical day would include an early start, a cup of fresh coffee or tea, after which guests set out on their safari drive. Guides at the lodge meet the stringent requirements of the South African National Parks. And senior guides hold the highest guiding qualifications possible in South Africa. This ensures that your encounters with the African wilderness are exciting, informative and safe.
Kruger Birding Safari

Your guide will tailor the drives to your specifications. With a focus on birds, and bird identification. Time will be spent in different habitats to maximize your experience.
Kruger Sleep-out
For the adventurous, pre-book a night at the Sleep-Out decks and spend the evening under the stars sleeping in individual tents on raised platforms. You will leave Rhino Post at approximately 4 pm and be transferred via vehicle to Plains Camp. Part of the adventure is enjoying a meal cooked over an open fire whilst looking out for animals drinking at the waterhole below. Before curling up to sleep, lulled by nature’s nocturnal sounds. This is a wonderful adventure for those who want to get close to nature.
It is also a great option for those that are too young, or too old to manage the walking trails at Plains Camp.
For safety reasons, children under the age of 8 years may not participate in the Sleep-Out activity.
There are 4 platforms available with two mattresses per platform. Sleeping bags and duvets are provided. With an elevated communal dining area and 2 x bathrooms with hot showers and flushing toilets. 2 x armed rangers stay at the Sleep-Out.
