The Blue Train to Kruger National Park is a return journey from Pretoria once a year. You will traverse beautiful landscape and spectacular scenery on the way to the Kruger National Park. In the Kruger enjoy a morning and sunset game drive coupled with a cultural dinner experience.
The Kruger National Park is in the top three destinations that visitors want to see while on holiday in South Africa. It is one of Africa’s largest game reserves covering an area of 19,633 square kilometers (7,580 sq miles). Between the two provinces of Limpopo and Mpumalanga in northeastern part of South Africa. It is home to Africa’s Big Five. Elephant, Lion, Rhino, Leopard and Buffalo and other numerous unique wildlife.

Dinner is an elegant affair; therefore men are requested to wear a jacket/waistcoat and evening wear for ladies. During the day, dress code is smart casual or safari wear. Special requests for meals (e.g. Kosher and Halaal) are to be specified at the time of reservation.
The Blue Train to Kruger National Park Itinerary
Day 1
10 am: Register and check-in at The Blue Train Station Lounge, Pretoria Station Guests enjoy pre-departure snacks and drinks.
12:15 pm: Boarding commences. Butlers usher guests to their suites. Suite orientation done by butlers.
1 pm: The Blue Train departs from Pretoria Station (Will depart earlier if all guests have checked-in).
1:30 pm – 3:30 pm: Enjoy a five course gourmet lunch in the dining car.
4 pm: High Tea is in the Non-Smoking Lounge Car
Guests will enjoy pre-dinner drinks served at any of the lounges and are also welcome to refresh themselves prior to dinner.
6 – 8 pm: First sitting for Dinner
8.30 – 10:30 pm: Second sitting for Dinner
Guests enjoy post-dinner drinks, cognacs and Cuban cigars in the Club Car before retiring to bed.
Day 2
5 am: The Blue Train arrives at Numbi Train Station. Guests disembark and are transferred through Numbi Gate in open safari vehicles to a sunrise game drive that will be conducted by professional tour guides.
After the sunrise game drive, guests will enjoy a bush breakfast at an exclusive unfenced location inside the Kruger National Park.
After breakfast, guests will return to Numbi Gate using an alternative route back. Thereby exposing guests to more of the Kruger area.
12 pm – 3:45 pm: Enjoy a five course gourmet lunch in the dining car.
4 pm: Guests are transferred to Numbi Gate for a sunset game drive that will be conducted by professional tour guides. The sunset game drive will take place on the Nkambeni concession. The Nkambeni concession represents an area of approximately 11 400 hectares. It lies between the main entrance gates of Numbi and Phabeni. And stretches past Shabeni Koppie near Pretoriuskop camp.
7:30 pm: Guests will experience a spectacular boma dinner at Nkambeni Safari Camp. This includes an interactive cultural experience provided by a local group with international accolades.
10 pm: Guests are transferred back to The Blue Train. Enjoy post-dinner drinks, cognacs and Cuban cigars in the Club Car before retiring to bed.
Day 3
6:30 – 9:30 am: Breakfast is in the Dining Car on a first come, first serve basis
10 am: The Blue Train arrives at Pretoria Station. Butlers usher guests to the arrival lounge

Bed preference (double or single) must be specified when making a reservation, as double beds are limited.
The Blue Train to/from Cape Town Child Policy:
Children 5 years and younger sharing a suite with their parents travel free of charge (maximum of two children per suite). Children between 6 and 11 years old occupy a separate suite and pay 50% of the adult rate per person sharing. Should a child between 6 and 11 years old occupy a suite as a single occupant, they pay 50% of the adult rate. Children 12 years and older pay the full adult rate per person sharing and will be accommodated in a separate suite.
NB: Due to space constraints, The Blue Train will not be able to accommodate additional bed and/or mattress or cot in the suite to accommodate infants/children. As such, children will have to share the bed / beds with their parents /guardians. Should this pose a problem, we recommend that guests book an additional suite for their children at applicable children’s rate.
