Elephant Valley Lodge boasts a prime location overlooking the Lesoma Valley in the Chobe District. This area is home to the largest concentration of African elephants on the planet. It is 20 minutes from Kasane town. Therefore, Elephant Valley Lodge offers a tranquil retreat surrounded by the sounds of the night. Unlike the main congested areas of Chobe.

Sturdy acacia trees form large canopies of shade over the main communal areas and forest tents. Within these treetops, the largest colony of white-back vultures occurs. The rim-flow pool is perfect for a refreshing dip and relaxation on the sun loungers.

The waterhole attracts a wide variety of game, particularly elephants. But also, giraffes, buffalo, antelope such as waterbuck and kudu, warthogs, honey badgers, jackal, mongoose, predators including leopard, lion, hyena, wild dogs, and many more species.

Enjoy a cacophony of night sounds, including the eerie hyenas, jackals barking, and sometimes lion roaring in the valley, as you drift off to sleep after an exhilarating day of game viewing at Elephant Valley Lodge.

The animals and birds move freely in the valley between the game-rich conservation areas of the neighboring Chobe National Park and Matetsi Wildlife Conservancy in Zimbabwe. From the comfort and tranquility of the Lodge, you can watch creatures great and small. Dropping by for a thirst-quenching drink at the Lodge’s waterhole.

Elephant Valley Lodge Accommodation

The Lodge has a total of 20 spacious accommodation tents with en-suite showers and toilets. All tents have ample space and comfort. With twin three-quarter beds that can be easily converted into a double bed using a converter. They have tea and coffee making facilities, fans, hair dryers, and charging points.

If you’re planning on visiting in the winter months, keep in mind that the tents can get quite chilly. To ensure your comfort during your stay, we recommend bringing warm clothes to keep you snug and cozy. Additionally, there are electric blankets to help keep you warm throughout the night.

Forest Tents

The forest tents are in the cool shade of the surrounding trees, near the pool area. Providing a tranquil retreat amidst the wildlife-rich landscape. One of these tents is a family tent. It offers an additional bedroom with cozy twin beds and a luxurious bathroom. Complete with a rejuvenating bath and shower.

Each tent boasts a veranda with seating. Inviting guests to relax outside and take in the stunning views and impressive array of birdlife.

Valley Tents

Elephant Valley Lodge has 8 x valley tents that offer spectacular views overlooking the valley and an active water hole.

Guests can unwind on their private veranda, complete with seating. To take in the breathtaking views and observe the diverse birdlife.

At Elephant Valley Lodge guests will enjoy activities including daily 4 x 4 game viewing safaris and boat cruises along the Chobe River in Chobe National Park. Day trips to Victoria Falls either in Zambia or Zimbabwe are also available at an additional cost.

Game drives

Game drives offer opportunities to see and photograph the stunning range and concentration of wildlife that the Chobe National Park is famous for. As you drive along the riverbank looking for fresh tracks. Experienced guides can interpret the bush signs and track the animals that left them. Being the first at a special sighting is very exciting. The thrill ofracking game by following spoor can’t be put into words. You need to experience it. Impalas are everywhere and giraffes are commonly encountered. Elephants and herds of buffalo abound. Game drives are either in the early morning or the late afternoon.

Chobe Boat Safaris

Boat Safaris along the Chobe River are a wonderful way to experience close encounters with an abundance of riverine birds and animals. The game viewing while cruising the Chobe River is epic. You can enjoy watching elephants playing in the river or going for a swim. Hippos wallow in the shallow waters. They emerge to munch on the grass on the lush islands. Giraffes and antelope make their way to the water edge and sightings of predators along the riverbank are common.

A Chobe safari cruise is perfect for photography. The small boat acts as a mobile hide that allows you to get close to the animals without disturbing them. This has enabled wildlife photographers to capture countless stunning images.

Victoria Falls Day Trips

The Victoria Falls are only about an hour’s drive away from the Lodge. Guests depart the Lodge after breakfast around 8 am and arrive back at the Lodge before 6 pm.

Dining at Elephant Valley Lodge

A traditional outdoor ‘boma’ serves meals and a game viewing platform brings you closer to the valley’s wildlife. An attractive open lounge with a bar and upper viewing deck is connected to the dining areas. Breakfast is served at different times of the morning depending on the time of your morning activity. Lunch is buffet style. And usually includes a variety of tempting salad dishes and a choice of meats and homemade bread. This is usually on the outside dining deck. The ‘boma’ is a favorite location for evening meals, with a welcoming campfire. Starters and desserts are plated. Main courses may be plated or buffet-style on ‘braai’ nights. All these facilities have magnificent views overlooking the valley and waterhole. Bush dinner venue can also be arranged on request.

Single supplement 30% of the per person sharing rate in high season only.

Children under 12 years:
Pay 50% of the adult sharing rate when sharing with 2 adults. A maximum of 2 children can stay in the Family Forest Tent and 1 child in a normal Forest or Valley Tent.
Children under 6 years are not permitted on game drives.
