Nature Walk / Ancient Savute Icons
Take a walk to explore the ancient San rock paintings at Gubatsa Hills; a small hilly outcrop overlooking the landscape. The Gubatsa Hills is a rare example of San paintings in clear view. Whereas ordinarily they are found in caves and rock shelters which assist in the preservation of the colors. These wondrous images vie for your attention with a cluster of 13 baobab trees that tower over the bush. The baobab trees boast a circumference of around 7 meters (23 feet) and a height of around 5 meters (17 feet). Sunset colors provide a superb photographic opportunity.

Bird Watching
Savute is home to some of the world’s largest flying birds. The elegant, long legged kori bustard and the stately secretary bird. The migration of carmine bee-eaters; will all thrill the avid birdwatcher. Other local birding attractions include the endangered ground hornbill. Which meanders through the tall grass sporting tangerine eye shadow and a bulging throat. Raptors dominate the sky and the treetops with their razor sharp talons. The astounding sight of the bateleur eagle swooping down to capture unsuspecting prey is simply stunning. Pin-tailed whydahs glide through the clear sky with their ribbon tails swishing low across the grasslands. While stout, speckled korhaans somersault in the air amid mating cries; attracting potential mates. The wet summer season from November to March; is considered to be the best time for birding. This is due to the arrival of hordes of migrants. As well as to fare and prey being bountiful.

Child Policy for the package
Child sharing rates apply to children between 6 and 16 years of age. Children aged 5 years and younger do not qualify for the offer and will be quoted on normal rates. Chobe and Savute Under Canvas: No children under 12 years allowed. Chobe Under Canvas rate includes one photographic safari on the Chobe River with Pangolin Photo Safaris. Subject to a minimum of 2 night stay Nxabega Okavango Tented Camp and Xaranna Okavango Delta Camp: Triple room only allows for children under 12 years to share with two adults.
