Peering out beneath giant ebony trees, Camp Moremi brings true meaning to the word safari. It is in the Xakanaxa area of the Moremi Game Reserve, the eastern part of the Okavango Delta. The Moremi Game Reserve covers almost one-third of the Delta.
This means it is both a land and water based camp. Game drives in open 4 x 4 vehicles twice per day offer frequent sightings of lion, leopard and cheetah. As well as wild dog. Alternatively, guest can explore the Xakanaxa Lagoon and surrounding Okavango channels by motorboat. Camp Moremi has a well-deserved legacy in the Botswana tourism industry. For being able to deliver the classic African safari experience.
The communal areas include a sunken bar, masterfully built around an old large termite mound and an ebony tree. An expansive lounge area with beautiful brass and soft finishes, lead towards a large library and private deck. These areas, including the elevated dining area, are connected by a boardwalk to the fireplace in front of the camp. An open air boma and secluded swimming pool complement the public area facilities.
Camp Moremi boasts 11 x expansive, modern styled thatched safari tents. And 1 x luxury family safari tent. In total the camp can accommodate a maximum of 24 guests.

Children aged 6 and over are welcome at Camp Moremi. However, kids under the age of 16 years must share with a parent at all times.
Safaris create a life long impression on children of any age. The incredible guides adore kids and know exactly how to bring a safari alive for young minds. Stopping to look at lion footprints. Or standing next to a huge elephant bone. The guides know how to keep the kids tuned in. Peering through binoculars at a weaver bird carefully repairing a nest. Or watching as huge crocs slip silently into the water as you cruise by. These are experiences that will stay with children forever.

Guided Game Drives
Enjoy a choice of morning and afternoon game drives through the Moremi Game Reserve. The team of experienced professional guides will introduce you to a whole new world of wildlife. Watch a Leopard stretched out lazily in the branches of a Mopane tree. Herds of elephant grazing under a canopy of green. Or a pride of Lions camouflaged in the long grass. Moremi Game Reserve’s incredible wetlands support a vast number of general game. Such as antelope, including impala, kudu and waterbuck. But also, lion, leopard, wild dog, and lots of elephants.

Motorized Boat Safaris
Guided boat excursions explore the Xakanaxa Lagoon and its surrounding channels. Enjoy the picturesque waters of the Okavango Delta, with its kaleidoscope of birdlife. The boats have extremely comfortable seats, and a foldaway canvas roof. Spot the crocs bathing in the sun on the banks of the rivers. Or, pods of hippo, poping in and out the water.

Bird Watching
Birding is quite spectacular. Especially during spring and summer when the migrants arrive to breed. The majestic Fish Eagle and vivid Malachite Kingfisher are frequently seen. And even the rare Pel’s Fishing Owl makes an occasional appearance. To the delight of guides and guests alike.

Getting to Camp Moremi
You will usually start your Moremi trip in Maun. The ‘tourist capital’ of Botswana. Or Kasane. To get to Maun, you fly via Johannesburg, Cape Town, Kasane or Victoria Falls. Hop on a small plane that transports you in 30 to 45 minutes to Moremi Game Reserve. Don’t forget to look down during the flight. And gaze at 10,000 square miles of waterways, reed beds, water lilies and palm-tree islands of the Okavango Delta.
A 4 x 4 vehicle is required to access Moremi Game Reserve.
