Peering out beneath giant ebony trees, Camp Moremi brings true meaning to the word safari. It is in the Xakanaxa area of the Moremi Game Reserve, the eastern part of the Okavango Delta. The Moremi Game Reserve covers almost one third of the Delta.
This means it is both a land and water based camp. Game drives in open 4 x 4 vehicles twice per day offer frequent sightings of lion, leopard, and cheetah. As well as wild dogs. Alternatively, guests can explore the Xakanaxa Lagoon and surrounding Okavango channels by motorboat. Camp Moremi has a well deserved legacy in the Botswana tourism industry. For being able to deliver the classic African safari experience.
The communal areas include a sunken bar, masterfully built around an old large termite mound and an ebony tree. An expansive lounge area with beautiful brass and soft finishes leads towards a large library and private deck. These areas, including the elevated dining area, are connected by a boardwalk to the fireplace in front of the camp. An open air boma and secluded swimming pool complement the public area facilities.

Camp Moremi in the Green Season
In the green season, the already diverse Moremi region bursts into life. Some of the most scenic places like Paradise Pools and Dead Tree Island are the backdrops to the most surreal and beautiful landscapes imaginable as the summer colors become more vivid and the sun provides a richer light than the dry season. Impala drop their young and waterbirds are abundant throughout these seasonal pans of rainwater. Unique predator sightings include healthy populations of African wild dogs and leopards who prey on the many young antelope.
Camp Moremi is in one of the richest game viewing areas in the Okavango, with various habitats to explore on game drives throughout the region. Boat cruises take you through the permanent water meandering channels of the Okavango Delta and into vast lagoons in search of aquatic animals and birds.
