andBeyond Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge offers luxury accommodation while Sandibe Under Canvas is a small light footprint camp with less grandeur. But all the wildlife. Both are fantastic for honeymoons.
Decor complements the natural lines of the exteriors. The giant king sized bed (or twin beds) looks out on spectacular Delta views from underneath a dazzling white mosquito net. The sounds of Africa lull and soothe when you wake, as elephants, splash in the water, baboons chatter, and birds call in the trees.
They have full en suite bathrooms, personal bar and an open plan lounge area. An outdoor shower caters to those who simply cannot tear themselves away from the views. While discrete butler hatches add an aura of intimacy. Large wooden sliding doors open onto a private multi-level deck, with a seating area, and daybeds that invite guests to daydream away the afternoon gazing at a tranquil vista of water and sky. Sandibe Under Canvas – Opening 1st March 2026
Sandibe Under Canvas offers an intimate and exclusive safari experience with just three tents. Hosting a maximum of six guests, every moment in camp feels personal, rare, and completely your own. The camp invites guests to slow down, unwind, and savor the rare serenity of the wilderness. The tents have natural tones, open air views, and comforts overlooking the Sandibe grasslands. Each tent has a front row seat to the wild.
You’ll find running water, WiFi, soft beds and shaded verandas. Without the pretenses. It is after all what’s outside that matters. These camps don’t compete with the wild. They frame it.
Tent size is approx. 29.16 m2 (314 ft2).
Family Safaris
Children are welcome at &Beyond Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge. Should parents wish to share a room with children; the lodge can accommodate one triple room for children 16 years or younger to share with parents. A family suite is also available for families traveling together.

Where are Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge and Sandibe Under Canvas?
Set within 22 500 hectares (55 600 acres) of Big Five wilderness, this private concession is known for year round predator and big game sightings. It is adjacent to the wildlife rich Moremi Game Reserve, in northern NG31. Sandibe features the best the Okavango Delta has to offer in terms of both outstanding wildlife viewing and warm local hospitality.
Golden grassed floodplains inhabited by a staggering variety of wildlife stretch into the distance. Framed by lush palm islands and the spires of giant termite mounds. A channel of clear, cool waters runs directly in front of the elevated guest suites. Offering unrestricted views over the shimmering beauty of the Delta.
Guests can awaken to the sound of animals, laugh at the antics of baboons and squirrels over breakfasts and tread in the footsteps of elephants as they walk the ancient paths that bisect the forest. Days are spent exploring a maze of papyrus and the wide floodplains in search of wildlife.
Best time to visit the Okavango Delta
Botswana has hot, wet summers from October to April. Summer temperatures range from 25°C to 40°C / 77°F to 104°F. Winters (from May to September) are dry and cool and nights can be chilly. Winter temperatures range between 5ºC to 33ºC / 42ºF to 91ºF.
The rainy season is from late December to late February, sometimes continuing into March. With rain generally in the form of afternoon thundershowers.
During summer and spring, hot days usher in thunderstorms over a dry Delta. While in winter the land dries and the Delta fills with water.
Therefore, the best time for a Okavango Delta safari is in the winter. Once the rains have filled up the channels. This is between July – October.
How to get to &Beyond Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge and Under Canvas
Access is via a scheduled flight from Johannesburg or Cape Town to Maun. Or from Johannesburg to Kasane. Both followed by a light aircraft flight to Chitabe airstrip and a game drive from the airstrip to camp.
There are also flights available from Windhoek and Victoria Falls to Maun.
