Lebala Camp accommodation is in the Kwando Private Reserve in the Kwando-Linyanti region, bordering Chobe National Park and the Okavango Delta. Lebala is the Tswana word for wide open plains. It has expansive tracts of African plains and wetlands. This system is an intricate labyrinth of waterways, reed beds, islands, floodplains, bush, scrub, and trees. Making it ideal for predator action. Particularly the high-speed drama of African wild dogs and cheetahs. Elephants, sable antelope, lions, leopards, and hyenas also roam freely.
The greater Kwando-Linyanti region spans an area 40 times the size of Manhattan! Sprawling over 232,000 hectares of unspoiled wilderness in northern Botswana (opposite Namibia’s Zambezi Region). This is a piece of very wild bush, and its astonishing ecological integrity supports incredible biodiversity. It sits on a critical elephant migration route. The northern tract, near Lagoon Camp, is dominated by the Kwando River and its rambling riverine forests.
Expert guides know the bush like a second skin, so you can follow them off-road and even after dark using a spotlight. Like all Kwando Camps, the guiding teams are legendary. Trackers and guides work in tandem. A two-person approach means you’re more likely to catch that leopard in the thicket before it melts away.

Lebala Camp Accommodation:
On arrival, guests walk over a wooden bridge that spans a winding seasonal waterway. The elevated walkway leads into the lounge and bar area under thatch. The path continues to the thatched dining area and onto the pathways that lead to each tent. En route to the tents is the plunge pool, Lapa, and magnificent fireplace. The perfect setting for after dinner drinks and exchanging your safari stories.
The nine tents are raised on Zimbabwean teak decks and accessed via a sandy walkway. There is a spacious bedroom area, a bathroom area that includes double basins, a claw foot bathtub a separate toilet, and an outside double shower. They have gauze windows to let the breeze flow through and fans.
One of the tents has a smaller second bedroom with a shared bathroom for families.

Children’s Rates:
Child rates apply to the Family Room*, with a maximum of 2 children staying at the reduced rate per night. Guests under the age of 18 years are not allowed to stay on their own.
*There is 1 family room. The family room comprises 2 x bedrooms (the second is smaller) and one shared bathroom. It is on a first come first serve basis. Prioritized for families with children under the age of 18. These are for families only; not for triple / quad sharing for adults.

Lebala Enclave for small groups
The Lebala Enclave is a ‘private camp within a camp’ that brings enhanced exclusivity and privacy to small group travel. This intimate space is tucked away at Lebala. For a group to enjoy their own private dining, lounge, bar, pool and fireplace on an exclusive basis. Although you are free to explore and enjoy the amenities of the larger camp.
The Lebala Enclave offers a private chef, waiter and housekeeper dedicated to the group. A private vehicle. is required. This gives guests a more personal and tailored service and a private schedule. So activities and downtime are planned around the particular interests of the group.
The Lebala Enclave is ideally suited to VVIP’s, friends and family, photographic and academic groups, and any safari where you are looking to create a more exclusive experience.
Lebala Enclave can be booked exclusively with a minimum of 4 full paying adults (2 standard rooms), and a maximum of 10 people. No minimum age for children (under 18 must share with adult).
Lebala Camp Activities
Game drives operate using a guide and tracker which adds to the experience on two levels: You have two sets of eyes searching out the action, and looking for tracks; this ensures a good chance of sightings, especially predators. In addition, having the tracker out front, concentrating on tracking, means that the guide is more able to talk to clients, keep them informed and answer all their questions, it leads to a more enjoyable game drive atmosphere.
As Lebala is in a private concession we have the opportunity to drive off-road in search of sightings. Therefore, we have often been able to follow the wild dogs on their hunts. It also means night drives with spotlights are possible. 30% of fascinating mammals are mainly active at night so you have more opportunities to find them.
The Kwando concession is also great for Okavango Birding. On night drives, nocturnal species can be found, including owls.
It is also possible to do guided walks all year. The distance and area for each walk may vary seasonally at the guides’ discretion.
Private Vehicle and Guide
Private vehicles are only available for the full stay at any one camp and not part thereof. Booking a private vehicle includes a guide.
Should you wish to book a specific guide, there is a fee of $325 in addition to the private vehicle. Fees for re-positioning and re-locating the Kwando Private Guide are chargeable based on Moremi Air standard rates.
Private vehicle fees are applied to 4 or fewer guests who book it exclusively. All guests are guaranteed a window seat at all camps and operate a maximum of 6 people per vehicle. 5 or 6 guests traveling together will automatically get a private vehicle at no extra charge. Families with children under 12 are required to book a private vehicle.
Private vehicles are charged based on the number of full paying guests. This number does not include tour leaders, pilots, external guides etc. For example, 4 guests and a tour leader pay the 3-4 guests rate.
