There are 15 x stunning, breezy air-conditioned thatched suites. Scattered across lush green lawns. Spacious and soothing, the suites boast clean lines. Think natural materials and elegant organic-toned furnishings in pale sky blues, soft greys, and sandy yellows. With distinctive traditional African touches. Each Suite offers a heavenly bed, a free standing bath tub and an indoor rain shower. The rooms also have a hairdryer, ceiling fan, in-room safe, mosquito nets and a mini bar. They all have Kettle and Tea/Coffee facilities including Nespresso machine. Complimentary WiFi is available in all of the rooms of the lodge. After a day spent exploring the African wilderness, guests can unwind in their own private garden with a refreshing cocktail. Or enjoy a gourmet dinner served under the sky on each suite’s large terrace.

Three of the suites include an additional bedroom, making them an ideal choice for families. All suites are 95m2 including bedroom, bathroom and outdoor deck.

The lodge is secured with a surrounding fence. Ensuring a safe environment for children. While offering an array of engaging programs and activities tailored to keep young minds entertained and curious. The children’s program features guided walking safaris within the lodge’s grounds. Allowing youngsters to collect pods, leaves, and seeds while learning about tree identification. The excitement continues with a thrilling “Safari Hunt,”. As well as enjoyable kiddies’ croquet on the lawn. Aspiring young chefs will delight in making their own pizzas under the guidance of expert chefs. Families can also embark on shortened game drives, ensuring a fun and age appropriate experience for all.

Fishing Excursion

Embark on an exciting fishing experience with our expert guides after a short drive to the jetty. The prime season for fishing in the Chobe region falls during the winter months of May, June, July, and August. When one can anticipate reeling in bream and the renowned tiger fish. Embracing a responsible approach, all fishing activities adhere to a strict catch and release policy. Rates encompass the use of the boat for a maximum of three hours. As well as fishing equipment, for a maximum capacity of three people per boat. Please note that this activity is subject to availability and incurs an additional cost.

Tour of Victoria Falls

Victoria Falls is a mere one and a half hours from Chobe Chilwero. Subject to border formalities. Upon arrival, an expert guide will accompany guests on a tour of the Falls. Sharing intriguing facts and history throughout the journey. During the high water months, Sanctuary Retreats will provide raincoats to protect guests from the Falls’ misty spray. The walk, covering a distance of 3km, lasts around 1½ hours and weaves through the rainforest. Pausing at various vantage points. Also, guests can indulge in curio shopping at the neighboring open-air markets before returning to Chobe Chilwero. Please note that this activity comes at an additional cost.

May to October (Dry Season)

During this time, the weather in Chobe National Park is mild and pleasant, with temperatures ranging from 20°C / 68°F to 30°C / 86°F degrees Celsius. The sparse vegetation makes it easier to spot wildlife congregating around the Chobe River, offering exceptional game viewing opportunities. Visitors can witness large herds of elephants, buffaloes, and other animals as they gather near the water sources, creating awe inspiring scenes.

November to April (Wet Season)

Sanctuary Chobe Chilwero is accessible by road and air. Kasane has its own international airport, which is approximately 10 minutes away by road.

Flights and road transfers are available to / from Livingstone in Zambia. Road transfers take approximately 1 hour 30 minutes.
