Safari Tents
Style and drama collide to glorious effect in each of the 10 x individually designed tented suites. Beautifully positioned to maximize the panorama of the floodplains beyond. Complete with private wooden decks from which the boundary between bush and bed dissolves. Enjoy this outstanding vantage point for prime game viewing with coffee or cocktails. Or retreat and recharge inside your personal sanctuary. The atmospheric interiors feature artisanal touches such as woven basket lights and original artwork, enhanced by breezy white linens and natural textures of wood and leather. Each en suite tent has an indoor shower and a private deck perfect for wildlife spotting. Each tent is 68m2 including a bedroom, bathroom, and outdoor deck.
Each ensuite tent has a hairdryer, ceiling fan, and in-room safe. Plus a compact gym, yoga bag, coffee station, and a well stocked minibar. ‘Bush TV’ keeps most guests entertained. However, complimentary wireless internet access is available throughout the camp.
Family Safari
Children of all ages are welcome at Sanctuary Stanley’s Camp. The friendly guides will be able to offer dedicated children’s activities. These include teaching the art of poling a mokoro. A local dug out canoe commonly used in the Delta. Identify edible plants and wildlife in the bush. Learn how to make rope out of natural materials.
Children aged 15 years and younger are required to share with an adult. The camp is able to accommodate 2 x triples per night. Children aged 15 years and younger aren’t allowed on walking safaris. A private vehicle must be booked for children aged 5 and younger. A babysitting service is available on request (not a registered babysitter).
Children aged 6 years and younger stay free of charge. Children aged 7 – 15 inclusive pay 50% of the adult sharing rate when sharing with 2 adults.

Game Drives
You cannot beat the thrill of a game drive in the Okavango Delta. Enjoy game drives, and spotting wildlife from open-sided 4X4 vehicles, accompanied by professional guides. The game viewing around camp is thrilling. Water crossings are part of the adventure and watching zebra standing belly-deep grazing is a sight to see! Because Sanctuary Stanley’s Camp is set in a private concession, you can venture out after dark on night game drives to see the nocturnal animals. Keep your eyes peeled for large predators such as hyenas and leopards. And revel in the company of a million tiny eyes flashing under the rays of a spotlight. From bush babies to porcupines, aardwolf, serval, and genet. There are masses of animals to meet at night.
Key wildlife include: lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, cheetah, giraffe, impala, zebra, wild dog, hyena, and hippo.
Walking Safaris
Discover the signs of the bush, accompanied by your guide and armed ranger on exciting walking safaris. Allowing you to appreciate the delta from a different perspective. While journeying on foot you will have the chance to get up close and personal with the low key treasures of the bush. While listening to your guide bringing them to life in vibrant detail. Drink in the diverse flora and fauna. Spot the ‘little five’ and track animals using only their prints. From lions, leopards, and elephants to genets and even millipedes. Each has their own story to tell. Slow travel is a truly beautiful way to envelop yourself in the landscape. Ask a million and one questions and reflect on your time in Botswana. Mokoro Excursions
A highlight of any stay in the Okavango Delta is a poled mokoro excursion. A tranquil activity is unique to this region. So just sit back, relax, and glide along the meandering channels. To the tune of chirping frogs and the hum of the forest. While fish eagles soar overhead and lilies bloom all around. You can expect enchanting animal encounters. Observe buffalo as they lap water from the river. Watch crocodiles sunbathe on the banks and spot hippos cooling off in the lagoons. It is the gentle pace and serenity of the experience that will leave a lasting impression. All water based activities are seasonal and dependent on the water levels of the delta. Children aged 12 and over are permitted on the mokoro activity.
Scenic Helicopter Flight
Enjoy the most remarkable expression of the region on a scenic helicopter flight. Perfect for marveling at the sheer scale of the Okavango Delta and exploring its hidden secrets. Choose between a 30, 45, or 60 minute flight in a three seater Bell Jet Ranger helicopter. With the added option of having the doors removed to enable incredible, unrestricted photographic opportunities. This activity is offered all year round and at guests’ leisure. However, for optimum photography conditions, we recommend early morning and late afternoon flights. Helicopter excursions can be booked in advance or during your stay and come at an additional cost.

Food is an integral part of life at Sanctuary Stanley’s Camp. Talented chefs design creative, African-inspired menus that champion local and seasonal produce of the highest quality. Feast on a menu that features the likes of Mabelle, Tomato and Onion Relish, and Bean and Cabbage Chakalaka. You’ll never go hungry here. This camp caters to all dietary requirements (with prior notice). They are also able to offer a variety of private feasts. Such as starlit dinners and tranquil water lunches. Whereby guests can enjoy a vibrant buffet with their feet dipped in the cool shallows of the delta.
When to visit Sanctuary Stanley’s Camp
The Okavango Delta boasts a unique and ever-changing climate. Offering diverse highlights for visitors in each season. The region experiences distinct wet and dry seasons. The green season usually begins in late November and lasts through early March. This season has hot sunny days. With occasional afternoon thundershowers cooling down the surrounding area. Average daily temperatures range from 20°C-38°C. The dry season runs from late May to early October. In winter (June–August) temperatures can plummet as low as 0°C at night. With a daily maximum of around 26°C-28°C.
The rains in Botswana come between December and April.
May to October (Dry Season / Flood Season)
The dry season brings mild temperatures and clear skies. The weather is pleasant for outdoor activities, and wildlife congregates around the waterways. Game drives and mokoro excursions reveal an abundance of wildlife. Including elephants, lions, giraffes, and various bird species. Throughout these months, the Okavango Delta is transformed into a lush and vibrant ecosystem. The delta swells with floodwaters from Angola. Creating a breathtaking landscape teeming with life.
November to April (Wet Season / Green Season)
The delta experiences rainfall often coming in short showers in the afternoon. The landscape is lush and green. Attracting migratory birds. This means it is the best time for bird watching enthusiasts to witness a plethora of species. Experiencing a walking safari during this season allows visitors to appreciate the intricate beauty and biodiversity up close.
How to get to Sanctuary Stanley’s Camp
Sanctuary Stanley’s Camp is located in the 260,000 acre private NG32 concession. Bordering the game rich Moremi Game Reserve.
The camp is accessible by air and has its own registered private airstrip located approximately 20 minutes from the camp.
Flying times: (Dependent on multiple pick-ups and drop-offs)

Kasane to Stanley’s airstrip – 1 hour 30 minutes

All intercamp flights are provided by Mack Air. A maximum of 20kg of luggage per person is allowed for light aircraft flights. Including hand luggage and camera equipment. Maximum luggage dimensions are 30cm x 35cm x 70cm.
