Moremi Crossing Camp (Okavango Delta)

Moremi Crossing Camp in Okavango Delta

Moremi Crossing Camp offers luxury accommodation in 16 vintage-style safari tents in Moremi, east Okavango Delta, with views over Boro River to Chief’s Island.

LOCATION & ACCESS

Located near the most southern part of Chief’s Island, Moremi Crossing is on a small palm-fringed island called Ntswi; which is surrounded by the Moremi’s game-rich seasonal floodplains. Moremi Crossing is a short scenic 20-minute flight from Maun. As you fly over the Delta you can see the intricate twists and turns of the waterways and the ever-changing colors where dry land meets Delta. In contrast to the northern Okavango Delta where the waters are fast-flowing and the channels and view are enclosed by high reeds and papyrus; the channels around Moremi Crossing and its sister camp Gunn’s Camp offer far-reaching vistas of the Moremi’s floodplain, grasslands, and marginal woodlands interspersed with Mokolwane palm islands.

Moremi Crossing combines simplicity with luxury and is a perfect place to unwind and enjoy nature at its best.

*There is 1 family room. The layout of these family rooms comprises 2 sleeping rooms and 2 bathrooms, the second of which is smaller. These are booked on a first come first serve basis and are prioritized to families with children under the age of 18. These are reserved for families only; not for triple/quad-sharing for adults.

There is one “floating” extra bed in the camp however, due to the size of the standard tents, including a third bed is a huge space constraint due to there being no living area in the tent. For the comfort of guests, we would discourage this setup, but we can accommodate a triple if required. This can be used in the family room for 2 adults and 2 children. We only allow a maximum of one triple to be booked (2 adults and 1 child) on any given night (in addition to the family room), please check if it is available. We will otherwise be exceeding the permitted limit of the concession.

FACILITIES

The main building houses a large open plan deck that has spectacular far-reaching views over the Boro River onto Chiefs Island. Various small private lounge areas are created for comfort, privacy, and spaciousness. Within the tree line, you will find a nice shaded decked area that leads to the pool. The whole camp is shaded by magnificent Palms, Giant Ebony, Mangosteen, Sausage, and Giant Fig trees.
