Kwara Camp, Okavango Delta – perfect accommodation if you only have a couple of nights to see the region and want great wildlife sightings.
Kwara Camp can be found in the southern part of the private Kwara Reserve. It borders the Moremi Game Reserve in the Okavango Delta. The Kwara Private Reserve spans an area of 175 000 ha (432 000 acres). Its unique location boasts both permanent water and seasonal flood plains as well as extensive dry bush wilderness. Favored by labyrinths of permanent water channels and secret islands; this area offers the perfect Delta experience. Considered to be among the best in Botswana for game viewing and activities. Nestled under the shade of tall trees, the camp has a wonderful view over the floodplains and lagoon; just in front of the camp. It is a land & water camp, year-round.
Like other Kwando properties, Kwara offers a digital detox experience (no WiFi or cell phone connectivity) allowing its guests to truly enjoy and embrace the natural setting of the camp. All activities will be accompanied by a guide and tracker. However; unlike other Kwando Safaris camps, all 9 seater vehicles take a maximum of 4 guests. Game drives which can be off-road and at night, walking safaris, mokoros, boat cruises, and seasonal fishing. The site is 15 minutes from the Kwara airstrip.
The main area sits in the center of the camp. It has a dining area, lounge, and curio shop. Kwara also has 2 x small pool areas at each end of the camp. This provides guests with more private lounge areas. Each poolside has a small bar and pool loungers for guests to enjoy the afternoon siesta period. There is one additional pilot/guide tent of a lesser standard than the other guest tents.
The decor of Kwara pays homage to the authentic African style of Kwando Safaris and has 9 x canvas tents. Each tent has a spacious deck, an en suite bathroom with both indoor and outdoor showers, and a gorgeous bath. All of which have views out to the floodplains. There is a ceiling fan in the room and mosquito nets around the beds.

Activities at Kwara Camp
Kwara is a land & water camp so great if you only have a couple of nights to see the Okavango Delta. Game drives operate using a guide and tracker. This adds to the experience on two levels. You have two sets of eyes searching out the action, looking for tracks. This ensures a good chance of sightings, especially predators. Also, having the tracker out front, concentrating on tracking, means that the guide is more able to talk to clients. To keep them informed and answer all their questions. It leads to a more relaxed, convivial game driving atmosphere. As Kwara is in a private concession, you have the opportunity to drive off-road in search of sightings. It also means that you can do night drives with spotlights.
Wild Dogs
Fishing is also offered at Kwara for 10 months of the year; excluding January and February as this is the peak breeding season. Basic equipment is supplied, but avid fly fishers are advised to bring their own equipment.
The mokoro trip is the quintessential delta experience. There is nothing more relaxing than poling along the lagoon and channels with your guide, soaking up the atmosphere, and seeing things from a totally different perspective.
There is a double deck boat available to go out for a short sunset cruise, the perfect way to spend an afternoon, meandering the waterways. From October to March, it is also possible to visit the heronries at Godikwe and Gcobega Lagoons.
Heronry
It is also possible to do guided walks all year round. An area is chosen at the guide’s discretion and in keeping with safe distances from large herds of elephants and buffalo. The distance and area for each walk may vary seasonally at the guides’ discretion.
Private Vehicle and Guide
Kwara Camp operates with just 4 guests on the vehicle. 3 or 4 guests traveling together automatically get a private vehicle at no extra charge. The private vehicle fees apply when 1 or 2 or guests book it exclusively ($800 from 16th April 2026 – 15th April 2027). Private vehicles are charged based on the number of full paying guests. This number does not include tour leaders, pilots, external guides etc. Booking a private vehicle includes a guide from the camp in question. Please note guides change at each camp and that the camp managers will assign the guide.
Should you wish to book a specific guide, there is a fee of $325 in addition to the private vehicle if you are 1 or 2 guests. If you are 3/4 guests, it is free of charge. Fees for re-positioning and re-locating the Kwando Private Guide are chargeable based on Moremi Air standard rates.

Five Rivers Safari Offer
The 5 Rivers Safari runs from 1st December to 15th April every year and offers substantial discounts. Plus no single supplement for the first 2 singles per group. This is a very special time to visit Botswana as it is a time of plenty. Mammals are healthy, and many species bring their young into the world. The bush is emerald green with an abundance of flora and large flocks of migrant bird species. This makes it especially good for photographers.
Five Rivers Safari – myths dispelled
The 5 Rivers Special has been simplified to offer even more great value. Now with a common price per camp and a common flight rate. To make it even easier to book. The minimum itinerary stay includes a minimum of 2 nights per camp (except it is a minimum of 3 nights for Kwara).
Accommodation until 15th April 2026 is US$ 650 per person per night*
Accommodation from 1st December 2026 – 15th April 2027 is US$ 720 per person per night*
Discounted flights are $ 300 per leg (excluding departure taxes from Maun/Kasane) in 2026 & 2027.
*Kwara surcharge of US$ 150 per person per night with a minimum of 3 nights at this camp.
All flying into and out of camps/lodges MUST be with Moremi Air for the 5 Rivers Safari. All 5 Rivers itineraries must start and end in Maun and/or Kasane. The flight rate is a common one way rate that applies to all legs of a 5 Rivers itinerary. E.G. from Maun to Pom Pom, then Lagoon, then Nxai Pan, then Kasane is 4 legs or 4 flights. Therefore, 4 x US$ 300 per person totaling $ 1,200.
The first 2 singles per group do not pay a single supplement on accommodation. Then, a USD 275 per person per night single supplement applies.
Normal nightly rate inclusions apply to the 5 Rivers Safari. The holiday supplements are excluded. These are 3rd to 6th April 2026, 20th of December 2026 to the 4th of January 2027 and 26th – 29th March 2027: $ 150.

Waiver Of Single Supplement
Single Supplements are waived when:
A camp is booked for exclusive use
Scheduled Group Bookings (4 tents or more):
During Secret Season, Green Season, or 5 Rivers, the Single Supplement can be waived for a maximum of 2 singles.
Any additional single clients will pay the single supplement rate.
Standard Bookings:
The single supplement is waived for a minimum stay of 6 nights for up to two singles in the Secret Season (16th of April to 31st of May & the month of November).
A single supplement is chargeable for all singles in the Flood Season (1st July to 30th September) and Shoulder Season (1st – 30th June and 1st – 31st October).

Kwara Camp Honeymoon Special
Honeymoon couples get a 50% discount for one adult’s accommodation based on the per person sharing rate.
Plus honeymooners will get:

Travel must be within a year of the date on the wedding certificate. The Honeymoon Special cannot be combined with 5 Rivers Rates or any other discounts or specials.
