Pom Pom Camp is in the heart of the Okavango Delta. On the Xudum river system on the western border of Moremi Game Reserve. Here; hippos grunt and frolic in front of the camp, surrounded by miles of reeds. In a clear water oasis, mekoro’s (dug-out canoes. Also called mokoro’s) offer you a wonderful means of viewing wildlife as you glide between palm-fringed islands. Pom Pom Camp is a 20 minutes scenic flight from Maun.
The camp overlooks a scenic lagoon and is quietly nestled under a grove of shady trees. There are 9 x large walk-in tents, all with en suite showers, and flush toilets. Although the bathrooms are roofless, they are enclosed for privacy and most importantly safety. This is a camp for the safari traditionalist; a truly unique bush adventure.

Facilities:
While your meal is prepared, camaraderie prevails around a campfire each night. Over hot coffee and perhaps a fine cognac, you will re-live the day’s events and compare notes on fishing and photography. In the main thatched building, you will find a cozy bar, lounge, and table settings for imaginative meals prepared by our safari chefs. Camp staff are proficient at their skills and will give you advice and suggestions during your stay. They will also give you a warm welcome at the end of each day.

Things to do on safari at Pom Pom Camp
There is the possibility of seeing numerous different species of game, however, Pom Pom is also about the nature experience as much as anything else. In addition to the big game, Pom Pom is a bird watcher’s paradise and within a maze of water passages, you will find the busy Pied King Fisher and countless other birds that flourish in the waterways. One such bird is the African Jacana. Commonly known as the “Lilly Trotter”. Which with its long stick-like legs, runs along the top of lily pads without causing so much as a ripple!

Pom Pom Camp Child Policy:
Minimum age 6 years. Children younger than 6 are only accepted when reserving the entire camp for exclusive use. Full adult rates apply when the child reaches 16 years. Families with children under 12 need to book a private vehicle. Children have to be at least 12 years of age to take part in walking safaris The child rates are only applicable when a Family Room* is booked. A maximum of 2 x children at the reduced rate per night. A child under the age of 18 years must stay in a room with an adult.
Pom Pom Camp Child Rates
There is 1 x family room at Pom Pom Camp. The layout of the family room is 2 x sleeping rooms and 2 x bathrooms, the second of which is smaller. These are booked on a first come first serve basis and are prioritized for families with children under the age of 18. These are not for triple/quad-sharing for adults.
There is one “floating” extra bed in the camp. This can be used in the family room for 2 x adults and 3 x children. OR, if the family room is occupied by 4 persons, this extra bed can be utilized in a standard room/tent to form one triple (2 x adults and 1 x child). We only allow a maximum of one triple to be booked (2 x adults and 1 x child) on any given night (in addition to the family room), please check if it is available. We will otherwise be exceeding the permitted limit of the concession.

Five Rivers Safari Offer
The 5 Rivers Safari runs from 15th November to 31st of March every year. This is a very special time to visit Botswana as it is a time of plenty. Mammals are healthy, and many species bring their young into the world. The bush is emerald green in color with an abundance of flora and large flocks of migrant bird species. This makes it especially good for photographers.
A minimum of 3 nights at one camp or 4 nights at any 2 camps/lodges All flying into and out of camps/lodges MUST be with Moremi Air.

Repeat Kwando Guest Special:
A 5% discount for guests who have stayed before (not applicable for new travelers in the same booking with repeat guests). The camps and date of stay need to be provided for verification purposes. Can only be combined with the Waiver of Single Supplement, and Long Stay Discount. Not valid in conjunction with any other special not mentioned.
Waiver Of Single Supplement
The single supplement will be wavered in all seasons except high season when a single person is staying at Pom Pom Camp for 4 nights or more.

Book to travel within 30 days and receive a discounted rate between 1st May – 14th November. Due to the nature of the late booking, rooms are very limited.
