Fully inclusive accommodation situated in the heart of the Okavango Delta, within Kwara Reserve. There are two camps at Splash Camp. The main camp and then Splash Enclave which is ideal to use on exclusive use for 6 – 10 people.
Splash Camp offers a very relaxed, friendly, and authentic atmosphere within the Private Kwara Reserve in the Okavango Delta. The area has long been known as Splash due to the huge water crossings that had to be negotiated to access the camp area.
The camp setting, among trees, while overlooking a game-productive waterhole, is a stunning location. The Kwara Private Reserve spans an area of 175 000 ha (432 000 acres) and shares a 30km water boundary with the famous Moremi Game Reserve. Its unique location boasts both permanent water and seasonal flood plains as well as extensive dry bush wilderness. Favored by labyrinths of permanent water channels and secret islands this area offers the perfect delta experience (land and water camp year-round) and is considered to be amongst the best in Botswana for game viewing and activities.
Located in a horseshoe shape, each of the 12 rooms is situated on a deck overlooking a natural waterhole/pan which attracts game year-round. All rooms are en suite with a flush toilet, double sinks, and both an indoor and an outdoor shower. 2 of these are family rooms (see below for family policies). In addition, each room has a private veranda with outdoor lounge chairs providing the perfect place to relax and take in the magnificent views and soak up the atmosphere. The rooms and main area are simply and elegantly decorated with contemporary furniture, complementing the atmosphere of the camp. The main area has a plunge pool, bar, and lounge as well as an orientation center and a curio shop. Just in front, towards the pan is the fire pit where a light breakfast is served each day before heading off on activities, and stories are told after supper in the evenings.

Splash Enclave
There is a second satellite main area (within the camp layout itself) with a plunge pool, dining area, lounge, and bar. This can be booked for exclusive use for groups of 6 – 10 looking for a more intimate experience on safari. Such groups who have booked exclusive use of Splash Enclave will have no age restrictions, making the Enclave the perfect location for larger family bookings. The rooms are identical to the Splash rooms and are part of the 12 rooms in Splash camp itself.
Activities:
As Splash Camp is in a private concession, it is possible to do off-road driving in search of sightings. Therefore, they often have been able to follow the wild dogs on their hunts. It also means night drives with spotlights are possible. 30% of fascinating mammals are mainly active at night so you have more opportunities to find them.
Splash Camp safari game drives
The mokoro trip is the quintessential delta experience. There is nothing more relaxing than poling along the lagoon and channels with your guide, soaking up the atmosphere, and seeing things from a totally different perspective.
It is also possible to do guided walks all year round. An area is chosen at the guide’s discretion and in keeping with safe distances from large herds of elephants and buffalo. The distance and area for each walk may vary seasonally at the guides’ discretion.
For 10 months of the year; excluding January and February as this is peak breeding season; fishing is also offered at Splash Camp. You will be provided with basic equipment. If you are an avid fly fisher; we advise you to bring your own equipment.
There are double-deck boats available at Splash which is the perfect way to travel along the waterways and have a great view of what is going on at the water’s edge and beyond. From August/September until January/February, visits to the nearby heronries currently located in Godikwe and Gcobega lagoons along the main boating channel. The period during which the heronry is active is dependent on the birds’ breeding behavior.

Child policy at Splash Camp:
Minimum age 6 years (Children younger than 6 are only accepted when reserving the entire camp for exclusive use). When the child reaches 16 years, the full adult rates apply. Families with children under 12 require a private vehicle. Children have to be at least 12 years of age to take part in walking safaris.
Children’s Rates:
ONLY APPLICABLE when Family Room* is booked AND maximum 2 children on the reduced rate per night Children under the age of 18 years must stay with an adult.
*There are 2 family rooms at Splash. The layout of the family rooms comprises 2 sleeping rooms (the second of which is smaller) and one shared bathroom. It is booked on a first come first serve basis and prioritized for families with children under the age of 18. These are reserved for families only; not for triple or quad sharing for adults.
There is one “floating” extra bed in the camp therefore 2 adults and 3 children could stay in the family room. OR; if the family room is occupied by 4 persons; we could form one triple (2 adults and 1 child) using the extra bed. In addition to the family room; only one triple room can be booked on any given night. We will otherwise be exceeding the permitted limit of the concession.
Child policy at Splash Enclave:
Accommodates a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 12 x full-paying adults There is no minimum age for children at Splash Enclave Children under the age of 18 years must stay with an adult.
