Pom Pom Camp is in the heart of the Okavango Delta. On the Xudum river system on the western border of Moremi Game Reserve. Here; hippos grunt and frolic in front of the camp, surrounded by miles of reeds. In a clear water oasis, mekoro’s (dug-out canoes. Also called mokoro’s) offer you a wonderful means of viewing wildlife as you glide between palm-fringed islands. Pom Pom Camp is a 20 minutes scenic flight from Maun.
The camp overlooks a scenic lagoon and is quietly nestled under a grove of shady trees. There are 9 x large walk-in tents, all with en suite showers, and flush toilets. Although the bathrooms are roofless, they are enclosed for privacy and most importantly safety. This is a camp for the safari traditionalist; a truly unique bush adventure.

Facilities:
Camaraderie prevails around a campfire each night over hot coffee and perhaps a fine cognac. You will re-live the day’s events and compare notes on fishing and photography. In the main thatched building, you will find a cozy bar, lounge, and table settings for imaginative meals prepared by our safari chefs. Camp staff are proficient at their skills and will give you advice and suggestions during your stay. They will also give you a warm welcome at the end of each day.

There is the possibility of seeing numerous different species of game, however, Pom Pom is also about the nature experience as much as anything else. In addition to the big game, Pom Pom is a bird watcher’s paradise and within a maze of water passages, you will find the busy Pied King Fisher and countless other birds that flourish in the waterways. One such bird is the African Jacana. Commonly known as the “Lilly Trotter”. Which with its long stick like legs, runs along the top of lily pads without causing so much as a ripple!

Pom Pom Camp Child Policy:
Minimum age 6 years. If you book the entire camp for exclusive use, children of all ages are welcome.
Full adult rates apply when the child reaches 16 years.
Families with children under 12 need to book a private vehicle.
Children have to be at least 12 years of age to take part in mokoro and walking safaris
The child rates are only applicable when a Family Room* is booked. A maximum of 2 x children at the reduced rate per night.
A child under the age of 18 years must stay in a room with an adult.
Pom Pom Camp Child Rates
There is 1 x family room at Pom Pom Camp. The layout of the family room is 2 x sleeping rooms and 2 x bathrooms, the second of which is smaller. These are booked on a first come first serve basis and are prioritized for families with children under the age of 18. These are not for triple/quad-sharing for adults.
There is one “floating” extra bed in the camp. This can be used in the family room for 2 x adults and 3 x children. OR, this extra bed can be utilized in a standard room to form one triple (2 x adults and 1 x child). In addition to the family room; only one triple room can be booked on any given night. We will otherwise be exceeding the permitted limit of the concession.

Five Rivers Safari Offer
The 5 Rivers Safari runs from 15th November 2024 to 31st of March 2025. Thereafter, it will run from 1st December to 15th April every year. This is a very special time to visit Botswana as it is a time of plenty. Mammals are healthy, and many species bring their young into the world. The bush is emerald green with an abundance of flora and large flocks of migrant bird species. This makes it especially good for photographers.
All flying into and out of camps/lodges MUST be with Moremi Air for the 5 Rivers Safari.
2024 – 2026: The first 2 singles per group do not pay a single supplement on accommodation. Then, a USD 275 per person per night single supplement applies.
Normal nightly rate inclusions apply to the 5 Rivers Safari. Holiday Supplements are excluded.

The 5 Rivers Special has been simplified to offer even more great value. Now with a common price per camp and a common flight rate. To make it even easier to book. The minimum itinerary stay includes a minimum of 2 nights per camp (except it is a minimum of 3 nights for Kwara).
5% discount for guests who have stayed before (not applicable for new travelers in the same booking with repeat guests). The camps and date of stay need to be provided for verification purposes.
This can only be combined with the Long Stay Discount.
Waiver Of Single Supplement
Single Supplements are waived when:
A camp is booked for exclusive use
Scheduled Group Bookings (4 tents or more):
During Secret Season, Green Season, or 5 Rivers, the Single Supplement can be waived for a maximum of 2 singles.
Any additional single clients will pay the single supplement rate.
Standard Bookings:
The single supplement is waived for a minimum stay of 6 nights for up to two singles in the Secret Season (1st of April to 31st of May & the month of November).
A single supplement is chargeable for all singles in the Flood Season (1st July to 30th September).

Honeymoon couples get a 50% discount for one adult’s accommodation based on the per person sharing rate.
