Owing to its remote delta location, Xugana Island Lodge is a year round water paradise offering guests the chance to experience the beauty of the Okavango Delta with its myriad of deep waterways, open floodplains, and diverse wildlife inhabitants. Xugana Lagoon is widely recognized as one of the most spectacular permanent water sites in the Okavango Delta. It is in the Shinde concession. The Okavango Delta is Africa’s largest and most awe inspiring oasis.
Xugana Island Lodge takes full advantage of this magnificent site. An expansive deck and al fresco dining area overlook the vast, pristine body of water that makes up the permanent Okavango Delta. The lounge, bar, and dining areas are set back under the Ebony and African Mangosteen tree canopy in open-sided thatched structures. A swimming pool is the perfect place to relax.
The camp is due to reopen on 15th April 2025 and we will update accommodation images as soon as they are available.
Each of the 10 x Luxury Safari Tents is elegantly raised at the island’s edge with an enclosed private deck with vistas overlooking the lagoon. Inside, there are tastefully designed en suite rooms that capture the natural colors and atmosphere of the Okavango Delta. The tents can be double (king bed) and twin bed (2 x singles). The en suite bathroom has a shower, double vanity, and toilet.
Spacious tent with writing desk, mosquito draped bed, and lounging deck
In keeping with Xugana Island Lodge’s reputation for privacy, one Luxury Family Safari Tent offers a perfect blend of luxury, intimacy, and nature. The family room includes two separate bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a connecting corridor between rooms. One of the bedrooms can be configured as a twin or a double and can accommodate 2 x children in twin beds (or a double), and a third child on a roll out bed). Each bedroom has an en suite bathroom including showers, toilets, and vanities.
