Kwando Lagoon Camp offers luxury safari accommodation that is great for honeymooners and family holidays. A water camp bordering the Okavango Delta and Chobe in the Linyanti/Kwando Concession; on the banks of the Kwando River. Lagoon Camps nestles in a shady area on the banks of the Kwando River where a band of the riverine forest is interspersed with wide-open plains. This is ideal for game viewing.
The Kwando concession is the largest in northern Botswana covering 232 000 ha of unfenced wilderness areas. There are only three camps situated within this private concession. Both are part of Kwando Safaris portfolio. They are 4 Rivers on the little explored western side of the concession. The other is Lebala, which is to the south of Lagoon Camp. Consequently, you are guaranteed an exclusive wilderness experience. The concession has 50km of exclusive river frontage. The western side of this vast area consists of dense woodland.

The thatched main area of the camp is multi leveled. The top area is the library which almost always has a breeze sweeping through. The main area was designed to fit perfectly into the natural landscape and allow views of the river and wetlands; from all areas.
Just past the bar / lounge area is the plunge pool. From here it’s a short meander to the deck where a comfortable swing chair awaits.
Nestled under ebony and marula trees the spacious, thatch-covered tents are the perfect place to relax during the day. And soak up the atmosphere while looking across the lagoon towards Namibia. Each tent has a deck with comfortable loungers, the sliding door leads into a sunken lounge area with a gauze window offering spectacular views over the lagoon.
Go up a step to the open-plan bedroom area, with a large dressing area behind. This leads to the bathroom, with double sinks, a claw foot bath, an indoor shower, a separate flush toilet, and also an outdoor shower. The bathrooms boast the same spectacular view as the lounge/bedroom area.
The tent interiors are kept pleasant throughout the summer months by a mixture of overhanging thatch roofs, electric fans, and large gauze-lined windows; allowing cool breezes through the tents.

Activities at Lagoon Camp
What to do ↓
Game drives operate using a guide and tracker which adds to the experience on two levels. You have two sets of eyes searching out the action, looking for tracks; this ensures a good chance of sightings, especially predators. In addition, having the tracker out front concentrating on tracking; means that the guide is able to talk to clients, keep them informed and answer all their questions; in order to have a more relaxed, convivial game drive atmosphere.
As Lagoon is in a private concession they have the opportunity to drive off-road in search of sightings. Therefore, they have often been able to follow the wild dogs on their hunts. It also means night drives with spotlights are possible. 30% of fascinating mammals are mainly active at night so you have more opportunities to find them.

Another special feature of the camp is the afternoon river cruise. The unique double-deck boat allows several guests the opportunity to drift along the river; while enjoying spectacular views, mammals, and bird life while sipping at your ‘sun downer’ of choice.
Fishing is offered at Lagoon Camp for 10 months of the year. This excludes January and February as this is peak breeding season. You will be provided with basic equipment. If you are an avid fly fisher; we advise you to bring your own equipment.

Child policy:
Minimum age 6 years (Children younger than 6 are only accepted when reserving the entire camp for exclusive use).
When the child reaches 16 years, the full adult rates apply.
Families with children under 12 require a private vehicle.
Children have to be at least 12 years of age to take part in mokoro and walking safaris.
Children’s Rates:
ONLY APPLICABLE when Family Room* booked, and a maximum of 2 x children on the reduced rate per night
Guests under the age of 18 years are not allowed to stay on their own.
*There is 1 family room. It comprises 2 x bedrooms (the second of which is smaller) and one shared bathroom. It is booked on a first come first serve basis and prioritized for families with children under the age of 18.
There is one “floating” extra bed in the camp therefore 2 x adults and 3 x children could stay in the family room. OR; we could form one triple (2 x adults and 1 x child) using the extra bed. In addition to the family room; only one triple room can be booked on any given night. We will otherwise be exceeding the permitted limit of the concession.

Five Rivers Safari Offer
The 5 Rivers Safari runs from 15th November 2024 to 31st of March 2025. Thereafter, it will run from 1st December to 15th April every year. This is a very special time to visit Botswana as it is a time of plenty. Mammals are healthy, and many species bring their young into the world. The bush is emerald green with an abundance of flora and large flocks of migrant bird species. This makes it especially good for photographers.
All flying into and out of camps/lodges MUST be with Moremi Air for the 5 Rivers Safari.
2024 – 2026: The first 2 singles per group do not pay a single supplement on accommodation. Then, a USD 275 per person per night single supplement applies.
Normal nightly rate inclusions apply to the 5 Rivers Safari. Holiday Supplements are excluded.

The 5 Rivers Special has been simplified to offer even more great value. Now with a common price per camp and a common flight rate. To make it even easier to book. The minimum itinerary stay includes a minimum of 2 nights per camp (except it is a minimum of 3 nights for Kwara).
5% discount for guests who have stayed before (not applicable for new travelers in the same booking with repeat guests). The camps and date of stay need to be provided for verification purposes.
This can only be combined with the Long Stay Discount.
Waiver Of Single Supplement
Single Supplements are waived when:
A camp is booked for exclusive use
Scheduled Group Bookings (4 tents or more):
During Secret Season, Green Season, or 5 Rivers, the Single Supplement can be waived for a maximum of 2 singles.
Any additional single clients will pay the single supplement rate.
Standard Bookings:
The single supplement is waived for a minimum stay of 6 nights for up to two singles in the Secret Season (1st of April to 31st of May & the month of November).
A single supplement is chargeable for all singles in the Flood Season (1st July to 30th September).
